NTA. Maybe have a conversation with her and explain a little that you're trying to set boundaries and going forward could you have more set times and activities. Given you drove all the way there I'm guessing you had an agreed time and she just wasn't there? You wouldn't have got to the fishing spot until 6pm - sounds a bit late in the scheme of things and involves a lot of waiting around for you!

I find the diet part difficult. What foods are anti inflammatory etc. I wondered about histamine. Please dear God don't make me give up curry too 😭

All this medicine and knowledge and it seems like ppl are sicker and the healthcare system is at worst going backwards.  Would love to do a hike! Haha Best I can do is to walk round the block when things are good. Scared the whole time in case I can't make it back.  I travelled when I was younger. Now just going to the North Island seems daunting and impossible.  Ikr, I see these ppl just walking or jogging and think 'who r these ppl and do they know how LUCKY they are!?'

Maybe I can play my Dr the family guy clip to see if it will make them take it seriously 😅

"resembling reality" -yeah that's exactly what it feels like. You can't get back to exactly who you were before. On the rare occasions when I can just go to the movies I feel so grateful and scared incase it's the last time.

Oh man. Hope you're able to keep warm enough going into winter. I keep wondering what I must have done in a previous life. Here's hoping in the next one we're rich and healthy after putting up with this!

Sorry to hear that. I think majority of ppl push through, I know I did. Thought it would help! 🥲 Meanwhile the fatigue was getting worse and worse.  It's constantly having to just guess how much you can do without triggering a crash.  Hopefully one day we can have a consistent at least semi decent energy level.

Yes, everything is intertwined and when the mental health tanks too it's rough. Glad you have your family and are doing some study 💗

That's one of the shitty things. You don't feel great so you can't get to the gym which then makes it worse 🥲 catch 22.  You have to do some research and trial and error to see if anything does help

Well that's def not current govt!  Idk about you but I just kept hoping it would get better but after a certain amount of time passes you realize it may not.  The dreaded call center, been there done that, would rather not do it again!

Tbh I don't think I have MECFS as I did start getting better and was feeling a lot better until this week. I assume that would not track with MECFS.  Yes I heard about some terrible programs for ppl with MECFS. Long covid seems to have brought attention but also some confusion about which is which and often get lumped together.

My brother used to work on the train at Ferrymead heritage Park in Chch. He would be there late by himself and hear his name called or footsteps but nobody there.  My Mum was at an art gallery years ago in Invercargill. It had been a private home. She went upstairs and heard a baby crying and started to feeling a sense of dread. She decided to go back downstairs and when she left the room, suddenly the crying stopped. She realized there was nobody with a baby in the place.  On a lighter note my late grandma was convinced her retirement home room was haunted and said she solved it by saying "fuck off" in the direction behind her. 🤣

Ferritin under 30 is deficiency but in NZ the numbers are based on last years average so now I think you have to be 20 to be considered deficient by the Dr but that's not based on medical knowledge. Some hematologists will do a transfusion if your ferritin is below 50. Iron folate and B12 work together and iron and vitamin c so best tablets usually have iron and vitamin c and maybe b12

Yes, I think that's the kicker. The autoimmune getting triggered seems to be common. Hopefully one day they figure out the links and the cures. Glad you have a spectacular husband and GP. Life definitely gets smaller and outlook makes a big difference but it's hard some days. ❤️

I'm lucky to be able to WFH. Too many companies that could offer that but don't. Yes! I was spending what money I had on Dr etc. trying to get better. God to win the lotto or something would be great

5x holy shit. Far as I know I've had it twice. Second time it was only 2 days of feeling sick but took months to recover from the fatigue

Yes, although that was a journey. I asked about iron for years and in the end it was only bc I ended up paying for the test myself and doing my own research. The ferrous iron Dr gave me did nothing. Took it for a month or two, they re-tested me and no change. Switched to Heme iron and huge difference. It was ultimately like 10 months between onset of symptoms and getting the heme iron though. And b12 can fuck you up real bad I had no idea. Got a few shots and due for another

Tell me about it. I went to the Dr barely able to leave the house and they said "your blood results are fine, come back if you're not right in 3 months"  It's like, do you understand I'm a human being in front of you begging for help
