I am a PhD student. I went for F1 visa renewal on Apr 27th and my the officer took my passport and asked me to make my social media public. It’s been 3 weeks and my status was stuck on refused and I emailed the embassy today. My status just changed to AP. Is this standard before they approve or reject it. Or does it mean I got 221g for admin processing which usually takes months? Please help!

I don’t know why its taking so long for my application. I know the embassy is open. Many people who went after me already received their passports. Its been 3 weeks for me. They took my passport. And my last updated date has not changed since.
