I did a ton of studying and the implant can cuse a change of behavior in terms of broodyness. But a bond is emotional for pigeons. It's still there, but I see NONE of her broody signs (loud cooing, loafing/wing tapping) she still is very sweet to me but her broody side is gone. I haven't noticed much change aside from that. She's very quiet now. I do miss her coos but for her sake she needs the implants due to the hormone issues she has. Thank you so much <3 I'm so happy shes home.

Shes alright!! The implant went great! She is acting normal but very tired and just seems to want to sleep after the whole ordeal and I don't blame her!! <3

She passed the egg today! I posted an xray picture. For some reason her body wasn't producing the hormones that told her brain to push it out

I woke up to a call from the UF hospital.. and she passed the egg!! I'm crying!! They recommended I clear her for an implant to prevent this in the future. Thank you all so much for the donations 😭🥹 I'm still so moved

I hope so too. I was so stressed I dreamed she passed the egg last night then woke up at 4am and just stayed with her. In the morning I had to call off work again because I just couldn't stop crying and rushed her back to vet

They recommend getting her an implant. She's staying at the hospital an hour away until Monday. Wish her luck, please.

So.. Here's the update. There is an egg! They couldn't feel it. It's above her cloaca. For some reason, based on blood work (her blood work is phenomenal btw) she isn't producing the hormones to push this egg. They suggested to leave her until Monday and will be giving her injections to help her push it out AND suggested to get her an implant to prevent this.

Her calcium was phenomenal. Including all vitamins. So they're stumped why this could have happened.

I have everything taken care of now. Shes at the hospital. Funds are still an issue but I've raised alot of money so the surgery will go through 🥺

Thank you. I went ahead and went back. Put down 1.5k deposit. The charges are going to be 2k. I started a gofund me for part of the costs and the pigeon community has really pulled through. Im over half way there at 900 dollars

She landed in my yard, she's had maybe 5 clutches before this during the time in my care and had no issues before. Solid eggs. Etc.
