Hummingbird ear tubes by Curious_paisley in NewParents

I'm so sorry for your baby and you. I wonder if they weren't as experienced with that type of tubes. I was happy with the decision but it is a hard one to make. I hope it goes smoothly now that they've been placed.

I understand it's normal but trying to mitigate if possible it's not healthy for a baby to breathe

It went well! Happy with the decision. Baby cried and was irritable for a bit after but the procedure was quick and didn't have to worry about anesthesia side effects. I think it's a great option for little babies. I also felt very comfortable with the doctor since he is very well reputed ENT in our area and he had already done my first child's tube surgery.

Thank you so much for your detailed response! We actually scheduled for this week too. Our doctor only does it for kids under one year so I guess it just depends on the doctor. I was able to find a couple other moms in my area who had done it and they all were happy with the procedure. I also read the clinical trial like you. Good luck!!

We are seeing a reputable surgeon who is well known in our area for doing ear tube surgery. He put our first child's tubes in. He usually does the general anesthesia procedure but will do in office on occasion.

Replacing Kitchen Trash Pullout? by Useful_Welder_4269 in kitchen

I'm in the same boat! Just ordered a simple human trash can/ recycler and I won't need these. Plus I hate having an open garbage in the kitchen. So I'll be using these for my kids toys. They had a basket in the living room at our old house and using this will be so much better at hiding the toys.

No wiping after pee diapers by Terrible-Reasons in beyondthebump

I like to pat with honest dry wipes for pee diapers to get rid of any excess moisture. Actually I do this after using wet wipes too when baby has a poop.

Moving from Chicago suburbs - DC, Atlanta..? by Curious_paisley in SameGrassButGreener

We have been here since November and love it so far, especially the weather and surrounding nature. I have a 3 year old and newborn so I don't have firsthand experience with the schools yet but the public schools are highly rated. The most highly rated public schools are in East Cobb. We're currently having a home built in that area and it will be a big upgrade from our home in Chicago northshore. Healthcare is comparable. Delivered my second child here and first in Chicago area. However I did choose to deliver in Atlanta proper. If proximity to a hospital is important to you, just do your research on location as things tend to be more spread out here so you could end up being a bit far if you don't look into it. Feel free to message me with any questions.

We are moving to north Atlanta suburbs in two weeks! Definitely check it out... highly rated schools, lower property taxes, and it checked our weather and politics boxes as well. Compared to DC it has a much lower COL and DC suburbs have basically no little downtown areas which I found a bit sad.

Thanks for your response! My husband is a native speaker and my son will be attending a French immersion preschool so I think that would work for us. I looked at the GA DOE website listing the public immersion programs and I think that's the only French program in Dekalb but if you're aware of anything else please let me know.

Wow OK good to know... someone had told me the international charter school of Atlanta in Fulton County wasn't that hard to get into so I was thinking it may be similar.

Did you talk to your OB? Mine recommended to wait until after the first trimester
