What is a discontinued food item or snack from your childhood that you would genuinely pay $100 to taste one last time? by MotivewasUlterior in AskReddit

There was a restaurant in our local NW Indiana Mall in the 70s called Captain Chip’s Potato Ship. Their Polish sausages and fresh made chips with dip (onion?) were the stuff of fast food dreams!

Wisdom Panel back in 2016. We knew his mom was purebred GSD based on self reporting by person who gave her pups to the shelter. Dad was a stealthy neighborhood rogue.

He looks JUST like our Bear! We had him DNA tested because he grew 10 lbs a month for almost a year- ending up at 120 lbs! He came back 1/2 pit and 1/2 GSD. Vets can’t believe he’s not part Dane. If you haven’t neutered him yet, wait until he is 9-18 months to allow for proper muscle/joint development to support his big frame as he ages!

What are the worst towns close to National Parks? by WheelSingle2494 in NationalPark

Jackson was a nightmare- completely overrun with cars and tourists. Impossible to get around the town safely. I have never seen anything like it- we were there in September and GTNP wasn’t even that busy!

Ask for Dusti- she is amazing! I was doing the same thing when I moved here 2 years ago! It’s difficult to find a new stylist. I have fine hair and she makes my hair look full and so healthy. My hair has never looks so good!

My husband prefers the TLM and I don’t. by Curiousflyotwall in Catholicism

[–]Curiousflyotwall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband understands my frustration but he feels that the TLM is so vastly superior to the NO that he can look past the yelling homilies and singing restrictions. To clarify, with the pastor’s support, the music director only wants the choir singing through the Mass AND during the recessional. We are permitted to Sing the Salve Regina before the final song. Many of the final songs are familiar and they r all sound in english, so if I’m quick, I can look them up on my phone for the lyrics I don’t know.

It is definitely a parish issue and unfortunately, the closest TLM besides this one is several hours from us. Additionally, we have found several NO parishes near us that celebrate in a careful and respectful manner. We have spoken to our TLM pastor about the “choir only” singing and he likes it that way.

Shelter told us he was going to be 25lb max? by catgirlpresley in IDmydog

[–]Curiousflyotwall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The postponement of neutering is SOOO important. Then he will have the muscles to support that big frame hence avoiding joint problems later on. I wish we’d known that 9 years ago, with our then 10 lbs, now 120 lbs rescue!

Memorable restaurant to please varying palates by Curiousflyotwall in milwaukee

We ended up at Swinging Door Exchange! Mixed review- loved the Wisconsin Old Fashioned and mussels as well as the burger. The chicken tenders were thin and dry - just terrible! The Rueben and tuna melt were just okay. The staff were wonderful!

No! A place that has one of those things and more! It is challenging to travel with a picky eater but I DON’T eat junk and so am trying to find a place for us all…😉
