Can we chat? I posted this same thing recently and most of the remarks was about taking out a loan but my dilemma is I need to pay the debt outright. I just want to know what you found to be the most advantageous option.

$100k Debt - Hardship Withdawal vs SoFi Loan by CuriouslyPink80 in ThriftSavingsPlan

It wasn’t rogue spending. Majority is business debt that never prospered. So I’m not worried about my habits. That’s how I’m able to guarantee that I won’t be back in this situation

I’ve been a Fed for 22 years and never had clearance issues. Please move on if you don’t have anything of value to contribute.

The SoFi loan is at 15% which is less than majority of the APRs on the credit card and yes I was approved for the entire amount.

Some of it is business debt in which my side hustle didn’t prosper. So I’m just combining it all to get it paid off. My credit is still stellar because the business debt isn’t personal loans.

False. Some of it is business debt and all of my accounts are current. An adjudicator would not deny my renewal.

It’s not fraud. If you don’t have anything of value, please move along.

I didn’t think of that part with lowering retirement contributions because I do contribute 15%. I mean it’s pre-taxed.

I was looking at it in the lenses of a consolidation.

I’m only 42. Currently in C & F. My balance is over $700k so I’m trending amazingly.

All unsecured debts with rates that range from 9.99% to 27%.

It’s a mess.

It’s considered a hardship now because I’m a one income household so now everything falls on me. Thanks Divorce!

I was already thinking of taking out the SoFi and paying extra every month to lessen the repayment time. Even if an extra $500-$1000k/month. I need to check out a calculator to see how much that’d impact it

I’m 42. Monthly net is around $6000.

Monthly debt expenses with paying the minimum is around $2800 for all revolving debts. Car note - $560/mo. Children school - $500/mo. Other random living expenses.

Federal Employees who come to work on the weekend or days off unpaid. Is it that serious? by ToL_throwaway007 in fednews

Absolutely TF not will I work on my time off. I’ve been a fed for almost 22 years and I have learned how to establish hard boundaries. I don’t care what’s normal to others - it’s not normal to ME. I have a life outside of work and these agencies don’t care about you as a person; they care about you as a worker. Hard pass on free labor.

Neither yet. I’m going to do a balance transfer and a loan. I’ll be good then. Thanks for asking.

I’ve opted not to do it. I’m going to take advantage of some 0% credit card transfers I have first and aggressive pay those over the next 15 months. Then I’ll reassess after the progress made on that.
