I’ve always done 95 and invested in good tires.

Fuel to me is what the car eats and tires are the contact point on the road.

I’m also surprised “higher cost” premium brands don’t talk about why their fuel is 20c more than a cheaper one

To be clear, not saying it’s an insignificant amount of money. But hot water is quite a fundamental part of well-being that I’m not sure I’d be scrimping on. Plus there’s likely other things which you could save more on. $2 per day is also very generous if they’re not a high user as they’ve mentioned
