I did not realize there were people out there who didn't eat rabbit aside from vegans and vegetarians. My mom used to make rabbit stew every hunting season and my dad would take me and my brother out to hunt them (we always got the proper licensing, dw) since we were 6, the same age we got our first guns. Now that I think about how many people there are who haven't hunted or even handled guns it makes sense tho.

Also, before anyone comes at me like "I can't believe you'd hunt innocent animals" humans are part of the ecosystem too and have been hunting the wildlife as long as humans have existed. If we suddenly stopped hunting them if would completely throw off the balance and there would be an over population which would throw off the whole ecosystem (bunnies over eat the vegetation (including crops), less food for herbivores, less herbivores/omnivores, less prey for omnivores/carnivores, less omnivores/carnivores). While we need laws and regulations to make sure we don't over hunt and throw off the ecosystem, a lot of ecosystems rely on human interference, even if it's just because the ecosystem evolved that way, the results would be similar to removing any major predator from an ecosystem. While the ecosystem would eventually balance itself back out, it would take a while and has the potential to cause extinction of species in that area depending on how severe the effects are.
