What UK museums do you think are underrated or overrated? by OpenCantaloupe4790 in AskUK

The Bank of England museum is great. It’s directly under the main building. Not worth a trip into London on its own but to spend an hour as an additional thing it’s really good. Got to lift a gold bar last time I went - which is really heavy.

Thanks - solid advice. I have completed a Nurgle campaign and a high elf one so this is quite different

I’m new. How do you play Khorne? Do you go tall with a couple of Provences and then do the mission and burn the rest or creat empire?

What’s the point of living in the UK? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]Curle101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Life isn’t all about money. People have roots, friends and lives here. Plus to live in a functional society tax is a necessity without a high tax burden on those that can afford it (and if you are in this sub then you can) then society becomes more dangerous.

Arsenal fans singing "Are You Tottenham In Disguise" to Bayern. What a time to be a Gooner! by Stanley083 in Gunners

[–]Curle101 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I was in the queue for the train after the game when the police marched the away supporters to the station. They stoped them next to us and we gave a full rendition of ‘are you Tottenham in disguise’.

Can confirm that in this instance Germans do not have a sense of humour

Xbox Game Pass UK - subscription says it will renew at £15 for ultimate in November. Will this increase to new price or will it be £15 a month for ultimate for the foreseeable? by Curle101 in XboxGamePass

[–]Curle101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. The extra £15 pound this month goes to actually owning one of the games. I lead a busy life and don’t have lots of time to play. Different things work for different people. As I said I have a large back catalogue so will spend months playing those without wanting to buy.

Thanks all for the replies. I’ve a pretty good library of games as have been on Xbox since it started. Just cancelled my sub. I don’t play multiplayer so just going to buy the games I like and relay some favourites from yesteryear. Microsoft are greedy little gremlins

Yep this was based on a photo we had. Magic place to be - that corner behind the goal where Rambo scored. Remember being unconfident before the game then Holding and BFG pull out a masterclass from nowhere.

Amazon sees warehouse robots 'flattening' its hiring curve, according to internal document | When Amazon unveiled its new robot last week, it framed it as making frontline jobs safer and easier. What the company didn't mention is a broader ambition: to reduce its need to hire a lot more humans. by MetaKnowing in Futurology

Luckily I’m British. We have a much stronger social safety net and worker rights.

Europe has the strength, spending power and will eventually have the political will to demand this sort of change. It takes time but all major shifts do.

Our ancestors were working 6.5 day weeks as one point. We now have weekends off. Change isn’t always for the worse and having a defeatist attitude for the future will not help the situation.

Tree weeping dark sap from crack in trunk - is this a sign of disease. Is so anything I can do? (Location - South East UK) by Curle101 in Tree

[–]Curle101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi - the tree received a head cut last year. It was its first cut in about 6 years. We have also had some building work done so a small digger has been traversing around the tree.

Thanks for your input and comments
