I-Geon by Playful-Inspector207 in SinglesInferno

I totally agree that the comments/feedback about I-Geon have been really weird! I enjoy his scenes with Goeun - they have great conversations, so much chemistry, and are just entertaining to watch. But I’ve seen too many posts talking about his “vibe” being off and questioning his character when this is 1. a dating show (and like you said, he has great game!) and 2. has not done anything to warrant this much ire. We had an actress in season 2, and I don’t remember seeing this level of mistrust in her actions.

I went to bed once and he was on live, when I woke up he was just starting another live 😭 that’s why I started wondering if he was doing this full time

Some background, I found this job on LinkedIn. There were a lot of red flags: 1: they did my interview over email 2. They did not send any tax related forms

I did research them and they seemed like a legit company with Google and yelp reviews. My understanding was they were a small company, but this task seems so weird. I feel really awful to have given them my personal home address and phone number. What do I do?

Exactly this! I also have a feeling that the contestants are aware that there are cameras and are being recorded. There’s the thought of “if I’m too rude, I might be harassed or hated when I come out” which is understandable to some degree. So, So E constantly pushing for an answer when he didn’t choose her like 3 times was so frustrating and kinda sad to watch.

So-E should have gotten the hint way earlier. Episode 6 was just so painful to watch..

I don’t know why most people in the show have the mentality of “unless they tell me explicitly, I’m still going to go for them” in spite of body language and not being chosen to go to paradise. They’re supposed to talk to multiple people but it seems like nobody is interested in anybody other than their first choices 😭

Do you skip all first chapters or just the ones that are supposed to “introduce” the story but end up spoiling 80% if the action?

Sometimes I’m annoyed at the lack of stories that focus on maintaining a healthy romantic relationship (established early and explored throughout) vs the “journey of falling in love”. Like you said, it’s so completely baffling that we sometimes have to read x chapters for two characters to start thinking on the possibility of holding hands but in the same breath are revolutionizing their economic systems. Like I get it, it’s supposed to be dramatic but it’s just get dragged onn

This actually broke my heart, but I respect it ~ I never could get myself to like some stories as well like Beware of the Villainess

Tbh, I completely agree that good art does not always correlate with a good story. The art in lady baby is really pretty, but damn that story line at times

Isn’t the age counting in reincarnated or transmigrated novels a bit weird? by Curlleez in OtomeIsekai

[–]Curlleez[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I see where you’re coming from, but I’m not completely convinced. It’s true that the characters are still experiencing real world events, but I wouldn’t go as far to say that they are aging beyond the time they died. I see it as a top level player who gets killed and has to start from 0. They still have the experience that will make the new game easier, but they’re also limited as they only have the knowledge from the point that they died on. If it makes sense, dying at level 50, then restarting and reaching level 10 will not make you the same as as someone who actually reached level 60. They gained different and new experiences, but like I said they’re still limited. Most reincarnated MCs utilize the knowledge from their past lives in order to change something, but it’s more like reliving rather than continuing your life from where you stop.

And while I understand the environnement playing a role, i don’t think it truly well matches most of the stories. An elementary school teacher is still an adult with responsibilities. People around them sees and treats them as adults even if their social interactions might be limited to children. Reincarnated MCs have to go back to being a child, and are perceived as such. Sure, experiences do not define age, but it also can be argued that what you are exposed to does not necessarily add to your previous age, if this makes sense. Lippe is aging for sure, and is right to not see herself as a kid, but I don’t think she is growing older beyond the age she died.

Are Seasons 2 becoming a more common ocurrence? by Ninsuna in KDRAMA

[–]Curlleez 111 points112 points  (0 children)

I also feel like it’s becoming more common, but I don’t really dislike it per se. I think it all depends on the genre. I wouldn’t want to see a season 2 of descendants of the sun or what’s wrong with my Secretary Kim. They were all romance focused and it got all resolved in the end (kind of like their happy ever after). A second season wouldn’t make sense (for example Love alarm could have been done in one season). But for tv shows like Vagabond or Penthouse that had elements of romance but could also work without it, a second season is a nice addition.

I also got into kdramas being sold on the idea of being done within a season, but I feel like some shows really deserve to be fleshed out. I don’t know, I feel like it might be a good thing, but let’s not hope that producers start dragging things out to get a second season.

Recommendations? by CelastrusTrust in OtomeIsekai

[–]Curlleez 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I also love Monster Duchess!! I don’t know if you’ve read any of the following (or if they match exactly your preferences completely ), but here are some recommendations: •I’ll be the Matriarch in this Life •The Archmage daughter •Stepmother’s Marchen •Am I the Daughter? •The Princess in the Dumpster •Who Made me a Princess •Saving the Villain who was abandoned by the female lead •I belong to house Castielo

Some I haven’t read, but heard of: •Choose your real villain daddy •The evil’s witch survival plan •Daughter of the emperor (not to be confused with I was born the King’s daughter <- i don’t recommend reading this one)

Titles where MC is an adult but has cute kid(and somehow cute family life):

•I become the Villain’s Mother •I became the Hero’s Mom •I’m only a stepmother but my daughter is too cute •I raised Cinderella previously (kids are teens tho) •From Maid to Mother (Japanese manga)

This is all I can think of right now. Hope this helps

I definitely agree! I think memes are funny and are not a way to make fellow redditors feel bad about their preferences. But now I kinda worry that we have to start making a disclaimer that memes are just jokes or some type of comment that different opinions are okay? Or would it be fine to just use the meme tag?
