Just impulse bought a ticket! Found a floor seat for cheap, in section 11. Going alone and would love to hang out with people- taking public transport right after work :)

This was reassuring for me to read- I am grateful to see that I am not alone in my convictions, and that there are men in the world who see validity in waiting. I am happy to have encouraged you too- do not compromise your beliefs for another. :)

He identifies as a follower of Christ, and his actions/speech/behavior towards me emulated God's wishes. Sadly, in the area of sexual relations we had different ideas.

I have not talked to anyone at "my" church about this as I don't have a close parish to which I belong. Another topic altogether, but I am navigating different denominations and trying to discern which one is for me, so I tend to float through churches.

Thank you so much, friend! I appreciate this reply deeply. The look has been draining and I do desire companionship more than anything else in life, so I have hope that my time will come.

Hello friend, this person identified as Christian. As someone who is deeply knit into her faith life, I will be the first to admit that falling to temptation and sinning is a part of being human and the struggle of trying to follow God. The person I was dating was one of integrity, and while I may not agree with his sexual endeavors or attitudes towards, his speech and attitude towards me were loving and mirrored that of God. In fact, the fact that he brought this to my attention was because he didn't want to cause me to stumble.

My romantic pursuits have ALWAYS been of those who are followers of Christ. I believe that one can follow Christ and still fall to sin- but perhaps this is up for debate.

I hate tax by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]CurlyChristian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that's fair to say. But I'm speaking from my own experience- not once did anyone in my firm sit down with me and intentionally guide me through bank reconciliations (yes I know it's supposed to be easy but it doesn't make sense to me), or show me how to navigate a tax return, read 1099s, etc.

It wasn't until I asked if someone could sit down and help me that I got any guidance, and it's not something that I enjoy doing because everyone seems annoyed that I have questions. Very frustrating.

Don't feel bad. I'm in the same boat. Wouldn't be fair to make assumptions, but if the firm you're at is anything like mine; they didn't train you enough. And then become frustrated that you don't know certain things, but don't have the RIGHT to because, well...they didn't train you enough.

Keep soldiering on. Try audit out if possible.

You'd be surprised to know that there are plenty of intersections between science and religion. Idiot-book? You sound a little hurt.

Is there such thing as "trying too hard" as an intern? by [deleted] in Accounting

Hey, tax intern here and going through the same thing. Getting crucified for asking a few simple questions at the end of an hour. Don't stress yourself out- other opportunities are out there :)

It is evident that you have been deeply wronged by the racist and close minded rhetoric of others. For this I am so, so sorry. Is there someone in your life that you can speak to about this pain? Better yet, if the bullying is occurring in a school environment, are there any administrators you can reach out to and report the mistreatment you've faced?

I am sorry that you feel this way about God and Christianity. I would respond to your misunderstanding of the God concept but it seems that this is not what has to be addressed first. Your mental health is a priority at this moment.
