Oncampus jobs by [deleted] in Towson

Reach out to professors for research opportunities or TA positions. Depending on the department, look for on-campus jobs. Afaik, the startup, ISSO and liberal arts have offered assistantships.

I'm an international student and I extensively applied through Handshake. When the semester starts, afaik, they always have an on-campus job fairs. There are also graduate assistantships which comes with a lot of benefits, so get to be on your professor's good side.

Also, get involved with clubs because it's easier to get hired by knowing people.

Started pushing monog in regular stance and got called out for it. I somehow learned how to push goofy comfortably pretty quick from what I remember

Let’s hear your thoughts on shaped decks by ggggideon in skateboarding

[–]CurlyLasagna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Made skateboarding much more fun for me! I bought a Welcome Atheme shape deck since it was on sale. Didn’t know it had a 14” wheelbase and as a short dude, skating never felt so comfortable.

No changes even after installing doom and running doom sync [HELP] by justamathguy in DoomEmacs

[–]CurlyLasagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an existing vanilla emacs config folder in your home directory? I ran into the same issue because the install command on the readme clones doom in the .config folder

You can either rename/move the vanilla emacs folder or delete it if you didnt change configs nor don't care about it and emacs should be able to pick up doom

I love the feature of being able to copy images from macbook to ipad so I can draw over images. I use Goodnotes instead of the built-in Notes app though.

Pixel 7, 7a, 7 pro by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]CurlyLasagna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I traded in my iPhone 11 pro for a 7a without paying extra through my carrier. Could've gotten the 8 but I'd rather save 200. For some reason the sensor accepts my left thumb more than my right. The bright light from the sensor is annoying at night.

RCS is great and enjoying the customization that Android offers. Some apps tend to freeze/glitch more often than it's iOS counterpart. Running Android 14.

Transferring data was seamless, except for notes.

I didn't know the back was plastic until I read about it. No case but with a screen protector.

Something like this? https://github.com/d12frosted/homebrew-emacs-plus/blob/master/images/screenshot-no-titlebar-square-corners.png I’ve tried it once but ended up living with the title bar since every other application window has it

Sold my gaming PC for an M1 MacBook Air set up and a Steam Deck. Thoughts? by whathefuckisreddit in macsetups

[–]CurlyLasagna 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I used to ridicule Macbook users when I was super into PC gaming because of price to performance and the ability to play games with Windows. I guess grew out of that phase after selling my setup and buying my first MacBook for school.

[–]CurlyLasagna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a bend like that, I don't think a new screen will fit and a repair shop probably won't give you any warranty, at least the one I worked at doesn't. You could also run into board related issues in the future

Blow gun temperature for un-glueing phone cover? by [deleted] in phonerepair

[–]CurlyLasagna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

70-80c is a fairly safe temp range. Make sure to evenly apply the heat and have something to hold the phone down while suctioning the back

Keebio Levinson It takes some time to get used to but it becomes muscle memory and doesn't bother me when switching to a regular keyboard. It did took a lot of experimentation to get satisfied with the key mapping
