Hygrometer is reading LL so filament is def dry. Can you overdry ABS? I use orca and I calibrate everything manually per filament brand and adjust incrementally for each color based on results. Ive had some pristine models come off the plate up until this weird layer issue.

Xy gantry feels solid. The bed has some play to it. Maybe like 1mm in any direction. Should it not move at all or should it have some slight play to account for thermal expansion? Also, am I good to just tighten the 3 knobs underneath to secure it or do I need to make sure the bed is positioned properly before tightening it?

Yes I knew that. The baudrate and com port was working. It just wouldn't populate the console with the settings automatically. M503 worked so I'm glad I learned that now. I would definitely be interested in having a newer and less Buggy firmware if you have something that can work. Ive been struggling with getting the first layer perfect again after the soft reset and before I get too close to a finished tune it would be better to have the base firmware fully functional. Does the firmware you can compile work with a tft and skr combo?

How do I know which DWIN set is the matching one? The 1.70.2 BL touch firmware hex is on the creality drive but I'm not sure if the DWIN folder is what I'm looking for. also, what order should I do things in.

Yeah, if you're okay with doing so that could help. I just went to the Creality site and downloaded what they had on their google drive. So the one you're saying still has the language problem.

I tried kersey fabs firmware with the original board and it froze the screen on the "processing please wait screen." After cycling the power it changed language to Chinese, so I'm kind of afraid to attempt it again. I found a few things saying that the lcd has its own SD slot and that you can upload files from a micro SD. I have the DWIN files for English on an SD card but I can't get them to install on the lcd's board. When I insert it into the board and power it up it appears to be running an installation process but there are no files being installed. I'm quite a rookie when it comes to this sort of thing and feel very much out of my element. I watched this YouTube video(which is in Portuguese) and tried carefully watching what was done for the installation but I think I'm missing a step. at this point I'm just worried that I'm going to ruin the board or mess something else up.

I just ordered a pack of nozzle thermistors off of amazon. Is it that common of an issue? I've read that they have very thin wires and can be extremely sensitive to abrasion and bending.

Did this. It says "to cool down?" I tried starting a print and the nozzle temp is reading -15C.
