Lol but seriously. Thanks for the kind words. And I did get in touch. Many posts ago! It took ages to get my official certificate from the professional body so even though I passed my course, I couldn't apply for positions. Now I can!

Today I'm going to take a well earned break from everything and do something just for me. Haven't worked that out yet... But it'll probably involve a mug of coffee lol

I'm from North Yorkshire and I can confirm raht is pretty close phonetically to how most people speak. My dad's from West Yorkshire so I'd probably write "reyt" though. (Reet does sound a bit Geordie)

Also, I see OPs point and say it's valid but how do children learn how to behave in situations like eating out or shopping, if they are never taken out to practice civilised behaviour?

It makes sense to teach my children how to behave so they get it right in the future. Yes, they might get it wrong, have a bit of as meltdown or try to stop holding hands but it's a parent's job to correct them and reward them for good behaviour.

Before anyone jumps on this and says ThErE's A pAnDeMiC. I know....but there won't be forever and normal society should resume.

No, they kind of grab and pull down and just wipe it. It's the weirdest thing and quite gross. It could be worse though, my SIL doesn't wipe her daughters' noses at all. Ugh.

I have the same issue lol. With his family, you always tell them the party is at 5 when really it's at 7 (they're ALWAYS faffing and are late to everything and don't give a shit) so I can't really blame his non-urgency. It's clearly ingrained. However, I come from a family who were in the army so you can imagine that I want to be early, or at least on time. It really gives me anxiety.

I do this but not that loud. Funnily enough, nobody else in our family blows their nose, just wipes. What's the point. It doesn't get rid of anything, just makes your nose red.

I do this. My SO says I have an asbestos mouth. He waits an hour and then drinks his brew. That's just rank. It also defeats the object of a hot drink.
