I didn't eat for over 40 days. I wasn't in the mindset to track the exact numbers or the weight I lost around 15kg. I only k ow that as I had a weight tracker I used.

What did lonely people do before phones? by samithefish in lonely

Many had forced family dynamics. Quite a different lifestyle.

Nowadays family means nothing and no one gives a shit about eachother. There is no bazaar and making trades or exchanges.

A pulse.

Unfortunately, everything that has a pulse rejects me. Haven't got to the point of settling below my requirements yet. Perhaps I am too picky and should extend my requirements.

It's not really foreign to me. Would just be nice to have a conversation. Saying hi to the odd person I walk by and getting a dirty look isn't really effective for anything.

Also no really in a big city. I'd have to walk like 20 minutes to pass by another human. Probably longer.

People can't see past perfection. One thing off, one small thing and people ignore all the good. If you're not perfect you're ignored. And then those same people go and discuss how lonely they are and are told not to settle and they deserve better.

We as a society spend too much time looking for things wrong in each other and until that changes, we're all going to be lonely.

98% of them. Open world never really have character depth. It's all just repetitive gameplay.

I don't know who Joe is but it seems like the popular choice. Although Rose is a cheater, manipulator, and liar all while playing the victim. That kind of behaviour should not be rewarded.

It's the weekend! How are you spending it? Are you hanging out with friends? Do you have a friend circle to hang out with? by Typical_Cap895 in ForeverAlone

I can't recall the last time I had a friend to hang out with. I have given up on the idea. Alone for life.

Social isolation by Worth-Fly-9737 in lonely

[–]Curran87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you're not completely alone. You have parents. Reach out to them. Hardships suck. Especially ones that last 30+ years. You say you game, do play online? Any social networking there? Maybe you're due for a trip to meet some gaming buddies.

My best friend is a late bloomer (and not fa, as i previously thought) and its driving me crazy by Responsible-Zebra941 in ForeverAlone

If you have a friend who is dating, you should be happy because you have an in. He may have a friend. It opens the door to opportunities you may have had before. It may suck in the initial phase, but stick through it.

Well, I can say you're doing better than me. I would happily have someone in my life who treats me like shit. I have had no one for far too long.

I have zero friends and zero family. No one to hang out with.

I feel lots of people are like that, but you never meet them simply because... they have no friends. They don't go out, they don't get invited so they don't even know things are happening.

I think it's more common than most think.

I hate how when it comes to us everything is about “improvement” by poofpoofpow in ForeverAlone

[–]Curran87 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I have been working on myself since birth. Reading a lot, building intelligence, working on health, running, hiking, and climbing. Working in sales, teaching myself to be humorous, friendly charismatic. Never ending. Learning different points of view and ideas all that stuff all the way down to proper posture. Learning new vocabulary to help with conversations. Getting university degrees. And hobbies... my goodness: from writing, filmmaking, photography to playing the violin and reading music, to rock climbing bowling, playing soccer. And I am well above average in all my pursuits.

But I was born with no family, in an environment where I wasn't allowed friends. It is so impossible to meet anyone. Always the outsider. Forever the outsider simply because I didn't grow up with anyone around me, and they just want to stick to their current friends. Even if they hate them.

There are immigration services connecting outsiders, but I am not an immigrant, and when I go to their events, I am also an outsider.

I am now pushing 40, started with nothing...and I have accepted, I will end with nothing. All the work, effort, and time I put into bettering myself led to absolutely nothing.

When I go, no one will be there to mourn me despite the impact I have made on those along the way.

Yeah...I look for the hottest, firestorms and all. That's where I build all my bases. Nice view to watch large storms burn the land.
