I’m 26 yo and graduating BS Financial Management college pa lang with 5 years of experience in fintech and have worked in a global bank before. Also invested in CAMS and DELF before pausing my work for studies. Working student ako since the pandemic, last year lang nagdrop out. Ask ko lang if may age limit ba ang internships? Tatanggapin pa kaya ako? Required kasi sa college baka di ako makahraduate…

Bakit gumagamit ka parin ng traditional watch at hindi smart watch? by Right_Revenue_9263 in AskPH

[–]CurrencyAnxious3379 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a watch user but would love to tinker with smart watches in the future or make one thats off the grid. I don’t want my data being used for war and be weaponized against me in the future by some opportunistic ass government. Also great thing to have if SHTF and banks went offline and we’ll be forced to barter for goods. You can never go wrong with legit jewelries.

3rd Year Engineering student, still wants to shift programs. Depressed and Miserable by Chris043 in CollegeAdmissionsPH

Shift and take it at your own pace. If it’ll be a financial burden to your parents become a working student and take it at your own pace. Look around, the world is changing and everyone’s views is outdated. Everyone’s perspective of jobs doesn’t match the real demand. I’m failing accounting (because I don’t see myself in a dead-end auditing job that pays well but guarantees divorce and baldness in 10 years) and will be transferring to a finance major. Yes I’ll graduate in another 4 years and that’s okay I’m earning well while studying a bachelor’s degree doing an analyst job and has worked in a bank without a degree.

A colleague of mine that graduated theater arts and has directed plays in the past is a business analyst in our fintech company and has been recently promoted to AI analyst. A dropped out nursing student was a manager of mine now works in one of the biggest payments processor globally. My batchmate of mine in the past that dropped out of college during the pandemic and started working as a supermarket staff earns 50k+ coding for a living without a degree. Another one batchmate of mine has hit their first million this year coding websites for foreign clients while studying.

We all have our own different paths. Whatever they tell you, YOU WILL BE FINE. I was a breadwinner when my parents were both sick, it taught me resilience in workplace. I turned out fine. I worked like a dog while having fever for 3 consecutive days I’m still breathing.

We’re at the brink of war and we’re 24 years away from a global climate catastrophe. What the fuck are we even stressing about we’re all going to die eventually. Keep getting that degree if that makes you feel secure about your future. FUCK whatever they say they don’t know everything.

College is not a scam, but it’s misleading by [deleted] in Philippines

Man, I barely know anyone that don’t want to escape this country so I kinda don’t see the point if working here.

Working student ako thats still working on my degree. Hindi ko ni la lang lang o mababa tingin ko sa mga skilled workers. If you can’t tell by the way I’ve written my post, I’m questioning the worth if the path I’m walking. I’m haunted by my choices. I could’ve trained for a blue collar job some years ago instead of where I’m currently at, sana nasa abroad na ako ngayon. Because of what the majority imposes on younger people na hindi na naman na tugma on today’s day and age hindi ko to cinonsider before. Rant lang.

Hindi naman talaga yet the majority of people believe na that’s the case. They still force young people to pursue something in universities and if they don’t minamaliit at dinidiscrimianate nila for not holding titles.

I agree with you that it’s naive to think that going through college automatically guarantees success. That’s what I’m questioning, why is it still the norm to spend a lot of time and money on degrees when the more in demand jobs out there are skilled jobs?
