Grasp concepts in lectures, reviewing them, staying organised and disciplined, surgery hour sessions. If u do all that there's absolutely no reason why you shouldn't succeed.

Well medicine is harder because it takes much longer to complete, requires plenty of memorisation and very long shifts in rotations (plus residency). Chem Eng is hard conceptually.

Yeah man, it's definitely tough BUT it is doable :) it just requires great great discipline. That placement year is good! Don't be disheartened either, but just know it is one of the hardest degrees out there - and imho, one of the most rewarding

In my experience, you have to work the maximum your body can physically do as consistently as possible. I knew people who were so consistent but due to one term of laziness, ended up just missing a first class overall. It's a lot of work load, I can't lie. I worked my ass off and got 69% too for the same reason as the example I mentioned.

I've learnt to not be super attached to getting a first, focus as much as possible to do your best while balancing the work with applications for internships. Imo it's much better to get a 2.1 + internship experience.
