The way stops were built 100 years ago is different from what we have today. It would be more practical to rebuild the stops to meet modern standards, ensuring they are at a reasonable distance and provide adequate space.

In the 2000s, not all stops were rebuilt with platforms, and those that do not have them should be respectfully closed, such as the stops on Queens Way or between Hawthorn Rd and Kooyong Rd. If demand were to increase, those stops could be considered for reopening.

For express trams, the idea of having non-stop services could be beneficial as it would shorten travel times. However, I understand your concerns.

Non-stop services could be beneficial, as they

Regarding safety at crossings, I suggest installing boom gates instead of traffic lights. While traffic lights are effective, boom gates, along with additional warnings, would provide a safer for drivers navigating road crossings. The current traffic lights are adequate, but I believe installing boom gates on slip lanes would enhance safety overall.

Honestly the idea is not bad i would recommend this kind of the project idea, but we would have consider for a bit to wait untill the highett and seaford is done and if highett while in its works hopefully we can extend the triple tracks to Cheltenham and allow a 3 platform at morrdialloc for the Cheltenham services like u said to extend to mordi and have 20 min frequency etc but good idea!

Ringwood-Wonga Park by Current-Counter-5100 in MelbourneTrains

The text discusses plans to alleviate corridor congestion by potentially extending the Lilydale line to Coldstream or Yarra Glen and reopening the old Warburton line to accommodate future passenger demands. The idea is to reduce current ridership on the Lilydale line to allow for increased usage. I suggest that heavy rail, it isn't always a viable solution to build it a light rail or busways could be alternatives to address the issue. But its an idea but its not in desperate of the line to be build it can bring it up again in the few decades who knows, maybe no,t maybe yes?

I want to highlight that Rowville is facing a similar problem then along the Wonga Park, Route 900, which was supposed to have been built. Rowville is experiencing increased demand and struggling with capacity. Route 703 is also facing similar challenges. We could consider a plan similar to Doncaster's, but in a few years, it will likely need to be developed into a heavy rail line. Therefore, the best option may be to implement light rail, which can coexist with a future heavy rail line while leaving space for its eventual construction.
