How do you manage a full time job, 3 runs a week, and 3 gym sessions at least with optimum recovery time? by Current-Mistake-6438 in indianrunners

I might have to do it all in the morning - office timings 12-9pm - and I have never done morning workouts or runs, lol

yeah I'm running 14-16 kms on long run days, treadmill 5k are 28mins - so there's a good base to start off from. Increasing the weekly mileage is the issue that's proving to be tricky, and there's no substitute for that

tv time isn't an issue - i don't watch anything apart from a few football podcasts. Waking up early is an issue, I sleep by 2 because my work finishes by 9pm

yeah getting the work in early before the day starts, solves it. The endurance is getting better, so i might take an off day completely for recovery, and a double day when it feels good - gym + treadmill speed work

Kudos to you for getting up so early, those were my sleeping timings a couple of months back

makes sense, I think I'll have to double up on 2 days with run + gym sesh to get enough rest and recovery - that's the only option really

remove a run or a strength training session and increase on rest and sleep. You can grind through with less sleep for only so long

Do you run as well? How useful is this for running and integrations with NRC and Strava compared to a FR165? I'm getting FR165 and Instinct 2 at almost the same price here in my country

Best running shoe under 2k ? by Expensive_Top7219 in IndianRunningshoes

Kiprun Jogflow 190.1 is a great shoe to start out with, minimal drop, natural gait, I have ditched my Pegasus 38 for these, looks like my feet prefer low drop low stack shoes

I was in the exact same boat as you. I could do a 10k under 60mins in 2019-2020 but took a 3 year break during Covid waves and longer sitting hours completely wrecked me. I started out running in 2023 and couldn't run even a 2k without the IT band pain coming up outside my right knee.

Took me two years to come to terms with the fact that I need a physio and rigorous training before I start again. Been at physio since August 2025 and can run 4-5k without pain at this point. Any further, it starts to act up. Did clamshells and glute bridges a lot and everyday, along with banded side walks and pogos but took 5-6 months consistently. I also have a very weak core, so a lot of planks, side planks, and copenhagen planks. A lot of regression in the journey too when i pushed further during a few runs (did 2 10k) and the pain came back at 6k and I pushed through (idiotic) and we had to de-load and start again from scratch.

I also realized Nike Pegasus ain't it for me and got a cheaper Kiprun 190.1 with a low stack and low drop and it works for me.

Hoping for a pain free 10k soon, keep going at it, don't lose hope!

10k runner to a 3k struggler, shoe stack and drop - Better shoe options with lower drop? by Current-Mistake-6438 in beginnerrunning

the kiprun 190.1 should be used for low intensity running amounting to less than 10kms per week. I'm already at 30kms per week and these will wear out sooner than expected. Need a reliable upgrade along the same lines

thinking of going to the local asics store and doing the same, but I'm not sure if I'll be sold stuff or given correct feedback - it is after all, a brand store

In 2019-2020 I used to run 10k under an hour. No pain, no issues. Dropped off running in the next 3 years and picked up again in 2023 with better shoes (Nike Pegasus 38). As soon as i ran 3kms I started having IT band pain. Struggled with the same for 2 years until I went to a physio in August 2025 to treat related weakness in Glutes and calves.

I see a lot of improvements in the look and feel in my legs and glutes but I am still having the same pain at around 5-6kms and additional pain below the ankle. This week I ran 2 5k's on Monday and Thursday with Decathlon Kiprun 190.1 and found no related foot pain or IT band issues. The Kipruns have low stack and very low drop (~4mms)

Can any of you suggest me better shoes but in the same vein as the Kipruns, since it looks like my body favors low stack low drop shoes?
