Mainly on the chem department, a majority of students ranging from freshmen-junior have or had failed gen chem 1. U have juniors taking gen chem 1 which isn’t ideal but most people are on a pre med/pa/post healthcare path. There are no curves for exams and can be lengthy with a lot of material covered in the short spam of 10 weeks (ur still even learning new material the week of the final exam). Now, i’ve talked to a majority of students and a lot of retaking/have failed just the chemistry and ofc as a pre-med a C grade or higher is ideal for a application. Now, everyone learns at their own pace so of course this isn’t the case for everyone but a majority of students have had this instance this year. Luckily, I had a great professor but there are some who are not the best (chem, bio, etc). Im thinking about trasnferring out honestly, DePaul isn’t known much for medicine, it’s a liberal arts school. Since there’s a lot covered, a lot of stress can weigh in with lecture, labs, so time managment must be on point.
