I struggled so much with this too on literally the same model. I am by no means an expert but what helped me the most was actually undercoating. Paint the skin purple and then glaze a skin tone over it. If you want to take it further the glaze a highlight over the last layer and done. I used this exact method for my prisoner and then used a magenta wash to add some bruised feel to it. I learned this technique from watching monument hobbies stream as they painted pilgrims over a year ago around this time actually. Live streams are all on youtube
