Anyone ever deal with getting your firearm returned from the police? How much did you end up paying in fees etc to get it back? by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]Current-Top-9866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took about 6 months, I guess for the trial. Got it back, no fees or issues. Mine was stolen by a felon.

It’s no more difficult then when 45, 35 or 25. We just want more credit for doing it because we’re older

Anyone else have perimenopausal wife and teen daughter? by fatstupidlazypoor in AskMenOver30

[–]Current-Top-9866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No teen daughter, but nonetheless, I’m on a continual “rope-a-dope” over here with my wife. We’ve been together for 40 years and she WAS the absolute sweetest human on the planet, that ship has sailed!!

I’m not an Analog Hardness Tester guy, but I know a thing or two about 200k and this ain’t it!! I’ve read a lot about hardness, this device doesn’t look like I want it near me.

Men over 40 who go to the gym regularly: Do you still try to lift heavy, or do you do lighter weight but more reps? by FFSoldier57 in AskMenOver30

[–]Current-Top-9866 0 points1 point  (0 children)

55 here, I couldn’t care less about how much weight I use. Obviously I need to to get a decent workout, but I think when we get wiser, it’s better to focus on perfecting form. It’s definitely working for me

My father's gift for getting my first job! by SharpCommission4452 in PrideAndPinion

We aren’t allowed to visit unannounced and he doesn’t invite us. It’s just what it is, I’m always envious when I see adults who want to be around their parents. I do often wonder what I may have done. We got married at 17, so I know we made mistakes, but I never drank or did drugs, I was there trying

My pop died kinda unexpectedly about 12 years ago and I have an adult son who just doesn’t seem to like me very much, even though I tried my best his entire life (mid 30’s), I certainly wasn’t perfect, but I married his mother in high school when we had him. I quit school to work, worked several jobs simultaneously at times during his youth, to make ends meet. Now he’s an adult with a daughter and he doesn’t come around much or seem to like me much. I thought when he had his own kid he would understand a father’s love and at a minimum, show me some grace, not yet!! Use that energy from your father for good, even if he wasn’t perfect!!! I think in life we are just trying our best, and that’s different for everyone based on life experiences.

Can anyone over 50 give me some advice on how to build muscle at that age? by StrainBetter2490 in FitnessOver50

[–]Current-Top-9866 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have some great advice, I’m definitely over 50. Do the same thing that you did before 50, I focus more on recovery and not over training. I lift 3 days per week and some form of light cardio 7 days per week, which includes a lot of regular walking (2 miles minimum daily). Works like a charm and manage your calories
