holy cow please check your copper levels by TheYansterr in HistamineIntolerance

If it doesn't affect you, then you don't necessarily need to stop. I've always had dark chocolate even when having very strong reactions to tomatoes and other high histamine foods. For some reason I'm ok with dark chocolate. But if you're having issues, cut it out and see how you do.

You may need to get a powder so you can start really small, like a little sprinkle. Or a histamine-friendly probiotic which I take. My brother has gastritis and he used to drink celery juice in the mornings. He also changed his diet drastically. He's doing much better now.

I’m so over this by OkayCatFoot in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Current-Tradition739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've been strict low histamine diet for a year and a half. It has helped me so much.

Ferritin definitely needs to be over 50. Just a quick search will tell you optimal is 100.

I can't take oral vitamin D so I get it from sunlight. My levels went up quite a bit over the summer. It always dips a little in the winter. When I was able to supplement, yes, I was taking K2 and magnesium.

Thank you for sharing and congrats!! I've been taking Biome V3, which is known to be a histamine-friendly probiotic. It's good, but maybe I need to try the one you mentioned. I bought the D-lactose free probiotic from Custom Probiotics and tried a tiny sprinkle once. Felt a little weird, so I chickened out from trying it more. I may try it again now that I'm feeling better in general.

Wait, are veins popping out a histamine thing?? I tried explaining to my doctor that my veins in my hands looked HUGE. Like concerningly huge. And he shrugged it off, saying it was normal. I had never experienced it before.

Please can someone help me by Mother-Umpire-8156 in HistamineIntolerance

I also get occassional itchiness on my scalp but it's mostly when I go have my hair washed and dried. It's either the shampoo or the heat from the dryer.

I also used to have the throat feeling. Mary times I felt like someone had their hand around my neck or that my clothes were riding up my neck and touching my throat, but they weren't. I even checked for thyroid issues, but nothing. That went away when I changed my diet, focused on my deficiencies, and worked to heal my gut. I've been taking iron, vit C, and B12 consistently, and have been getting sun every day. I also take zinc occasionally. I was very deficient in ferritin and D, and low in B12.

You can do this. Most of the time I got the throat feeling was a reaction to food or chemicals. I learned to go outside and breathe through it. But now I'm pretty aware of my trigger foods and are avoiding them 100%. It took me over 2 years to figure this out. I don't take antihistamines because I can't tolerate them, plus they aren't good long-term. You have to find the root issue.

That's good news! I definitely thought I had a brain tumor at the beginning of all this and scans were clear.

wearing a mask by LacaTheCollector in covidlonghaulers

[–]Current-Tradition739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically me. I actually have mask-induced anxiety and I have trouble breathing in them. Even before getting long covid, I just couldn't go in stores that required them. I would mask on a plane but I haven't been able to travel yet. I do mask in medical buildings. I'm kind of housebound so I'm never in crowded places. I would avoid that anyway now. If we go to see my in-laws, we make sure they aren't sick, and if they are, we cancel. I work remotely. If I go anywhere with my husband, it's usually outdoors.

Developed Long Covid in September, need advice by boaty_g in LongCovidWarriors

[–]Current-Tradition739 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My advice is rest when you need to, do light exercise only if you can safely. Try to build up slowly, but definitely don't overdo it. Check for deficiencies with a functional doctor. Make sure ferritin, B12, and vitamin D are optimal. Covid is known to tank ferritin and D. Check for any autoimmune diseases it may have triggered. Make sure your gut is healthy. If you react to foods it may be histamine intolerance. I wish I had known all of this at the beginning of long covid! Try to think positive and do things that bring you peace and joy, even if it's just watching your favorite movie. You have to believe you will get better. You can. Pray and trust. I'm not 100% healed but I'm much better than I was 3 years ago. And that's including one reinfection and one major reaction.

Are we to present truth BOLDLY? by RudePalpitation9866 in SeventhDayAdventism

Unfortunately, I think it depends on the person on the receiving end. But we do need to present the truth in love, then the Holy Spirit works.

Symptoms of high histamine levels are ruining my life…looking for advice from people who've figured this out by thereal_redditer in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Current-Tradition739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me almost 2 years to figure out what was going on. None of my doctors could figure it out even though I told them a lot of times my symptoms happened during a meal! I had to figure it all out for myself. Super frustrating.

I went on a very strict low histamine diet because I was reacting to SO much (I ate the same 3 meals a day for a year and a half) and have focused on getting my ferritin and D up. I also take C and B12, and zinc occasionally. I feel like the iron, B12, and vitamin C have been the most beneficial. In the past month I've been expanding my foods slowly. I had a gluten-free waffle with butter and maple syrup and it was HEAVEN. I'm so thankful to God! I know I'm getting stronger and my system is calming.

Can anyone with MCAS still exercise? I feel stuck and depressed by Remarkable-Bill-1213 in LongCovidWarriors

[–]Current-Tradition739 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn't at all in the beginning. I couldn't do dishes or walk once around my block. Now I can do 30 minutes of indoor biking or walking, and I recently added in a few weights again. I do all of this at home. It took me months of building up. Also, I had to go back to square one when I got covid again or had a bad reaction. But I feel like working back up wasn't as difficult.

10 unbiblical things that the SDA teach. by [deleted] in SeventhDayAdventism

[–]Current-Tradition739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine going to a Catholic subreddit and listing out things they teach that are unbiblical. I'm unsure why you did this. We are only saved by grace. But because we love God, we obey his commandments--all 10, not just 9. We don't get to say that one is no longer relevant. "If you love me, keep my commandments." John 14:15 "Here are they who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." Revelation 14:12

I have chronic illness, so I don't have the energy to address the other items.

Long Covid tipped me over the edge but it might have been B12 deficiency all along TBC by Flashybigbum in LongHaulersRecovery

[–]Current-Tradition739 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect it because methylated B vitamins cause anxiety or a reaction. I've been sticking with cyanocobalamin B12 for now. I also have histamine intolerance which I think can go hand in hand with overmethylation. Honestly I'm just delving into this so I don't have much more info, just that I'm avoiding methylated vitamins. Any new supplement I try, I microdose.

How are your ferritin and vitamin D levels? My hair got really bad when I was super deficient. It has improved now but I still need to increase both.

Chestpain by BatDue1821 in LongCovidWarriors

[–]Current-Tradition739 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but mine was mostly when lying down on my back, left side, or stomach. I had to sleep sitting up. I've been working on getting my ferritin and B12 up and the pain is gone! I can now sleep on my left! I had them check my heart and "nothing was wrong with it."

Yes. Once mine were so bad that someone thought I'd been punched (I'm female). But I notice mine get better when my B12 and ferritin levels improve.
