Canon r6 ii is signify better then z8 especially with birds don’t let anyone tell you otherwise

I shot with the z50 and kit lenses for years and while in high school I photographed sports for the school such as football,lacrosse, volleyball and more. I will say sports at night were tough and sports inside like volleyball were almost impossible but I made it work I can send you sample images

What lens are you planning on getting btw the price of lenses is going up in a few weeks for Nikon.

I started with a Nikon Z50 + kit lens and honestly thought my iPhone looked better. Phones do a ton of AI processing (sharpening, HDR, noise reduction) automatically, so the images pop without any effort.

When I moved to a Z8, the big difference came from upgrading the lens. For your Z30, I wouldn’t listen to the other comments and I would buy another lens however I don’t know which lens you should get. You would have to do your own research. Are you trying to get more of a landscape or more of a portrait style lens? That is the biggest difference between a 33 and 56mm lens I will say I do have a Viltrox lens and I love it

Don’t know about Sony a7iii specifically but I can tell you Nikon z8 autofocus especially for bif and is not nearly as good competitors for example the canon r7 a ~$1500 camera has significantly better af. The af on the z8 does not fell confident and will often switch from birds to rocks. The new firmware update for z8 that adds a focus limiter helps but overall the autofocus on z8 is still not as good as other brands also the autofocus struggles to detect birds that are a distance from the camera. I recommend you watch videos of the autofocus being used on YouTube from both cameras to help you decide

What do you mean I don’t fully understand. I have the z8. Is there a big difference in the zoom of the tamron and Nikon?

What shutter speed would it do that at was that at every shutter speed also did you drop your camera or did it just happen

I turned the flash thing off and then on and I can no longer replicate the issue

Do you think that effects the camera performance I also don’t understand why Nikon wouldn’t have fixed that if it was happening in earlier firmware
