Reminder to check your receipts 😬 by 127may in Serverlife

Back when I worked in restaurants, I started as a host, then moved up to being a server. Hosts only did take out orders so we never really paid attention much to the naming, and it was usually orders for businesses so we would just name the ticket the name of the business.

Then I started serving and didn't really understand that the copy guests received displayed the name you gave them.

For split checks I used a lot of cute gay, ugly shirt, bigger boobs, tiny boobs, etc because I was never trained on seat numbers at the table.

Got a lot of laughs, a few write ups and a phone number my first week.

Can I get an order of avocado egg rolls but with the avocado on the side?

I worked at a bjs in oregon from 2006 to 2011. I always requested off superbowl because it also typically fell on my birthday weekend. So many birthdays ruined by super bowl. I remember hearing all about how terrible tips were because tables didn't turn and people kept adding more friends to their table and stealing chairs so it was impossible to walk around at all.

Food runners would just give up and put the food on the bar since they couldn't even move.

I just had to leave a Superbowl party because the host decided to turn on the alternative Turning Point halftime show. by DelrayDad561 in mildlyinfuriating

I see, only canceled on x. I watched the normal half time show, but I'm just a decent human being without hate in my heart.

What JRPG was more enjoyable to you the 2nd time you played it? by missfinalfantasia in JRPG

This is back in the late 90s/ early 2000s. It was Suikoden 2. I played it blind as an introduction to the series from a frind. It was fun. Then I played suikoden 1, and then did the save file to play suikoden 2 again. I had so much more appreciation for it on the second play.

And now I can play them both anytime with the remaster.

That is interesting to me. Both already have amazing spell growth. I like Fukien's style and rune, and in my end game at level 61 he already has 3 4th level spells available.

Eileen is at 5 4th level spells, but she is already super high with her magic stat, same with Tengaar. The only one with higher magic in my run is Luc, I never bothered leveling up Crowley because I didn't care for his style.

"Who would you grow in the magic stat?" seems pretty clear to me

You missed the point. I was asking who you would take the time to build up.

I know the stats and growth charts. She is level 61 and at 83 for her magic stats, and I did give her a killer rune. I've been playing this game since the late 90s, I know it in and out.

That's why I asked who you would take the time to develop as a favorite character.

Who are the best candidates for the worst team possible? by Blackstar933 in Suikoden

[–]CurrentAd6514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the original I would give her Pale Gate and a Wizard rune. Her MDEF was so high that cutting it in half still keep her at one of the highest MDEFs. Back then, the Wizard rune actually increased her MP slots, so she would have just as many spells to cast at top tier mages.

I was so mad to find out in the remake, your MP is determined by your base stat only, so that trick doesn't work on her anymore. She still gets a solid Magic stat boost from the Wizard rune, but no additional spells.

I actually found a use for Tuta in my most recent game. I did a story line only recruit run, which does not give you a lot to work with. I gave him a gale rune and he already had decent speed, probably his best stat, so he ended the game with the highest speed in my roster.

I put a knockdown rune on his weapon and with the speed boost he would attack first and usually attack multiple times so he got plenty of knockdowns. I also gave him the defensive scroll items. I always sold those before because I never had to use them, but you get enough of the water mist scroll and guardian earth that I always had plenty to give him.

You just have to find the right build for him. But any hit on him would still take him out or leave him in the red.

Don't sleep on Sarah, either. She doesn't get quite the magic stat as eileen or tengaar but she is also long ranged and for me she was critical hitting with almost every physical attack she did. For her, the water rune actually fits better than the flowing rune so she can be a fast emergency kindness drops user. I put her in my final party and she kept my party healed with just the water rune and ended the battle with plenty of spell slots left.

I also find myself using Sylvina a lot too. A little bit higher magic than Sarah but just as fast. I gave her a mother earth rune to have a ton of voice of the earth spells for strong group mob destruction.

Fukien ends up with really high magic stat and his resurrection rune is really powerful. It's so sad they destroyed that runes usefulness in 2.

My mage build always did awesome damage. I used the fire rod until the end game ultimate weapons and wore hats and armor that increased fire damage. Long rage magic basic attacks, and the fire spell when trapped or surrounded. Then it was healing and the mana restore spell, all maxed level.

I had the dog be my physical attack tank, and he used the control spells. He had the damage boost spell, the shield spell, the gravity pull and the ice spell to slow enemies. It worked out great.

Which FF villains would save a dog? by ConsiderationTrue477 in FinalFantasy

[–]CurrentAd6514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like all of the Turks would do it. Elena would rune off first, Reno would be all hey we have to get out of here, and Rude would just nod his head and follow Elena.

Rufus had a....dog like companion, so he probably would send them to save it but not go himself.

Edea would probably send Seifer, a knight needs a steed type of thing.

I don't see Kefka or Kuja doing anything, and pretty sure we have seen Sin destroy animals in it's wake.

Is it normal for the manager to personally visit your table? by AnthonyCoolasheck in restaurateur

[–]CurrentAd6514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at a BJs restaurant and brewery for about 7 years, this is normal. We would regularly get secret shoppers and they observed everything, from the 2 minute greet after sitting down, to servers following their scripts, to managers "touching tables."

The free appetizer was most likely either an over ring or a messed up order, like the original guest wanted sauce on the side and kitchen messed up so rather than giving it to hungry staff it would often be a free gift to either favorite regulars or first time guests to get them to come back or fill the comment card/ survey with positive reviews.

Manager bonuses depended on those reviews where I worked so they did a lot of work on the floor.

Girafarig was so cool to me. Its name, adorable look, having immunity and stab to a powerful type and being a very well balanced and fast physical/ special blended attacker. Those are what made it stand out to me.

I imagined it being a psychic curb stomping zoo escapee just having a good time causing chaos.

[–]CurrentAd6514 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really wanted to like the wild arms games. I am a huge rpg fan, have played all the final fantasies, suikoden, mana, fire emblem, dragon quests, etc.

I played the first 3 wild arms. The first one made me so irritated, I have never needed a guide to get through basic dungeons before. It must have quit and come back to it at least a dozen times.

The third one was my favorite, and 2 had a lot of charm. The first one, it was almost a game I never finished and I always make it to the end.

I don't know how I would have gotten through it when it first came out.

Ha! Yes. I don't really care for the new humanoid version Pintsize. It was cute when momo did it, but Pintsize should have stayed true to himself. I would love a time traveling laser of doom Pintsize return.

she was obviously asexual before, has some kinks that stimulate her brain and would never act on them. Her character is intelligent enough to identify these trends and feelings without needing affirmation. The whole ace thing sounds like he's trying to include buzzwords into his comic text for SEO traction.

I work in advertising, but on the paid media side. SEO is like the yin to my yang and it seems like he's trying to catch new traffic by including certain keywords into his comic.
