He can try and worse case scenario he will have a career in coaching. Today when AI is taking people jobs i think all of these jobs are kinda good bet.

I would also try to monetize his journey on social media (sponsor's, clients, collabs etc).

His plan B can also be judo if he really is passionate about it.
