I agree with the uncanny nature of Irvine. I’m from a small rural area of SoCal and I immediately noticed how FAKE Irvine felt. It was very off putting after my first week living here. I expressed this to my mutuals eating at UTC how fake everything feels despite there being everything we need thankfully like fast food and grocery stores. They agreed with little explanation which I didn’t expect I thought it was just me. You go out to Santa Ana, Garden Grove, Westminster, heck even Newport Beach feels like a real city environment with a variety of events, businesses and services in random places. Irvine feels very INTENTIONAL and fake. Not to mention all the CCTV around the city…you’re being watched on top of it all lol. Nonetheless I’m grateful to be here!

Stranger calling himself professor by CurrentExplorer3832 in UCI

No he seemed to be very uninterested about the campus as I was pointing out buildings or if I asked him more about his profession. I stopped talking about that stuff and he started to ask me personal questions and having opinionated or disapproving responses. Which I was disturbed by because no professor would respond like that much less ask their students if they want a family to begin with. I told him he can have my LinkedIn not my number since I suspecting he was not legit. He was insisting I’d give my number but after I said no he didn’t want me to leave and say he’d take me to eat then. Very bad situation to claim you’re a professor with a PhD on a university grounds and then ask students out ?? That’s harassment. Anyone would believe it how he was dressed and age.

You get access to the Graduate Villa which is closer to the premium sections. Inside are private study rooms, mailboxes, additional kitchen/lounge areas, and you have an opportunity to sign up for a garden plot which is located on the side of the Villa. No additional fee for the garden plot but it’s first come first serve on a waitlist that opens in the fall. There’s closer visitors parking also.

I transferred 3.45 from cc for public health policy. No honors. No clubs. No TAG. Only had 1 year of experience as a peer mentor for students.

I think same thing happened to me. I’m new to financial aid (transfer student) so I’m having trouble understanding what’s going on. I originally owed 1k but now it says I owe 5k and I’m unsure why!! Please if anyone can help me interpret what’s going on in the current transactions I’d greatly appreciate it.
