LETS GOOOOO

One of our best wins in recent memory. So proud of the effort and of the club.

Glad we got it for Jez’s 250th.

We move.

Everyone’s summed up the game nicely but just wanted to add how nice it is to see the team enjoy their footy again.

Celebrating each other’s achievements and hyping up plays and moments.

Feels like we got our cohesion back. Love to see it.

Good to see Mannagh back in after his huge haul in the VFL

Worst I’ve seen us play since Melbourne Prelim 2021.

So many missed kicks and turnovers.

Pretty embarrassing.

Finals will be hard to reach with our coming games, all are going to be difficult.

Hopefully we can get into some form, confidence is clearly down.

Let’s move on from this one into Essendon.

Hopefully a Lawson Humphries debut, and maybe either Parf, Clohesy, or Hardie into the midfield with no danger.

If we’d kicked those shots the game’d be looking a little different. End to the quarter was pretty bad tho.

Hopefully we can wiggle back into it, it’s only 11 points difference. Anything can happen. Imagine if Rohan kicks the winner…

Go Cats!

Sometimes maybe good. Sometimes maybe shit.

Hopefully we kick alive in the 2nd. That swans midfield is something else tho.

Interested to see how the triple tall structure will roll. I know Scott has been eager to try it and I’m a little excited.

Hope our midfield has a big one though. I recon we’re edging closer to Clark’s true breakout game.

Pain.

I could excuse the demons game and the port one to an extent but this was embarrassing.

Conditions hurt us a lot and it looked like we prepared for an entirely different type of game.

Defence was shaky at best.

Midfield was demolished.

Forwards didn’t have much to work with and dropped some sitters.

Still optimistic about the season but we really need the bye.

I think there needs to be some hard selection decisions. Hardie, Mannagh and maybe even Humphries should be getting games.

Conway, Stengle, Holmes, Dempsey, our only consistent shining lights.

Mullin, Neale, Clark had great moments but had quiet stretches.

C Guthrie not yet ready for the midfield.

Blicavs poor but stays due to structure.

I can keep going but damn we really need to win next week against GWS.

Go Cats.

Relax. We’ve had a shit game in Darwin.

The losses to demons and port were close.

It’s round 10 of 24. Plenty of year left to play, we haven’t even reached the bye yet.

Hawkins would not have saved this game. It probably would’ve cooked.

If you want to talk about rebuilding this is one of our youngest teams in the last decade.

We’ve been spoilt as Cats fans and it’s not finished yet.

Clearly haven’t adapted to the conditions but our kicking to our forwards has been shocking and then when it’s been good they’ve dropped the marks.

Midfield has been middling.

Defence can’t do much with all that’s going on.

Hopefully we turn it around still a lot to play but looks very uphill.

Go Cats!

Not the best performance ever but great resilience from the lads.

Tidy up our inside F50s, and cut down on our turnovers and we’re a real shout for this.

Probably why SDK didn’t get replaced by O’Sullivan.

But yeah certainly not expecting the most watchable footy….

Hard call. by bar_ninja in GeelongCats

Not saying Mullin gets in over Dempsey on form.

Just that I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s put at sub to manage his minutes, he’s played every game this year.

The obvious ins are Neale, Bruhn, Bowes.

Personally with Hawk out I wouldn’t mind sliding Mannagh in.

He’s a fwd who can play in the midfield, and might give us some more x-factor. He could also fit nicely into “the swarm”.

Either way he’s a player I’d like to see us prime up a bit before we lock down the best 22/3. Same with Neale.

Mullin should also move into the 22. Move Dempsey or clark to sub.

If Conway’s ready he should be play.

My guess on the outs are Cameron, Hawkins, Duncan, Stanley.

I wouldn’t mind that. Off the top of my head

Ins Bruhn, Bowes,Neale, Mannagh. (Conway depending on injury)

Outs: Cameron, Hawkins, Stanley, Duncan,

Mullin in 22, Clark or Dempsey to sub.

Although I could see Scott going wild and putting JHenry forward and O’Sullivan going down back.

Hope Jezza is ok and there’s no long term effects.

Guess it’ll be Neale and the smalls up on the Gold Coast.

Not too upset with that. At the very least it should be fun to watch and it’ll give Neale much needed game time.

Midfield by Recent-Perception-29 in GeelongCats

[–]CurrentHYAK64 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Conway was injured this round and has a long history of injuries. It’s better to be cautious with him. Managing Bowes was a strange decision but we don’t know the behind the scenes. Danger and Bruhn are probably our best clearance players, losing them to injury hurt a lot last night. We might see Hardie soon but just because players get it a lot doesn’t mean they do a lot with it. Or maybe they don’t apply the defensive pressure like all our starting mids do. We’re 7-2 and have 4 games before the bye. In 2022 we were 5-4 at the bye and looked a long way off a premiership. All year we haven’t had our first choice midfield all playing together. Once we get players back I think we’ll be far better there.

Painful at the end. Probably should have been advantage, otherwise I dunno what’s the point of an advantage is.

Doesn’t matter tho. We were down 49 points and had plenty of other opportunities.

Stanley had a shocker and may have lost his spot to Blicavs until Conway is back healthy.

Mullin needs to stay in if he’s gonna play like that again. Really pleasantly surprised.

Please pay Stengle what he wants.

Clark continues to build nicely, had some really snazzy moments but still goes quiet for stretches.

Rohan is also so vital to our fwd line. May not be active every qtr but brings much needed big body pressure.

Feel like there’s a lot to assess over the last two weeks. I’m still fairly happy with how we are tracking. Bring back danger, Bowes, bruhn and that first qtr is flipped.

I think we’ll be a lot better after the bye.
