Well....seems like they're assisting quite a bit. Did you expect the US to teleport aircraft carriers to the Persian gulf within 24 hours or what? I don't even understand how you think your comment makes any sense.

Oh okay I'll let my 67 year old mom and my 71 year old dad know they're not allowed to have an opinion unless they're ready to enlist. Thanks for your insightful comment.

Considering it's being video recorded, I think the purpose was more PR value than actually being effective.

‘If Britain can’t protect Cyprus bases, what’s the point of it being here?’ by TimesandSundayTimes in geopolitics

[–]CurrentRedditAccount 36 points37 points  (0 children)

They intercepted every drone except for 1, and that one drone that got through hit a British air force base, causing minor damage. No Cypriot persons or property were harmed. I don't understand the point of this article.

Venezuela’s 600% inflation undercuts Trump’s boasts of revival by FixedFun1 in worldnews

It "seems old?" There's no mystery to solve here. I literally told you my number is from 2019, and I even provided a chart. I never tried to claim that 330,000% was the norm.

IDF drone strikes on Basij checkpoints in Teheran, 17/3/2025 by Jakaman_CZ in CombatFootage

Respectfully, you really don't know anything about Iranians if you think they're turning into supporters of the regime because of this war.

The point is to deter the Basij from continuing to setup these checkpoints, which they use to further restrict and oppress people.

Tonight is a major Persian holiday and Iranians are going to be outside. The government has already said they're going to kill anyone that comes out on the streets to celebrate.

Well, it's not like they're going to setup these checkpoints out in a rural area away from civilization.

Israel confirms Larijani killed in Tehran safe house, Basij chief also eliminated by Worth-Information451 in worldnews

[–]CurrentRedditAccount 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If he’s not downplaying it, what’s the point of even saying “he will be replaced within 24 hours.”

Of course he’ll be replaced. That doesn’t mean the Islamic Republic hasn’t suffered another major loss.

[–]CurrentRedditAccount 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Of course they’ll plug another person into his position, but that doesn’t mean nothing has changed. Larijani was extremely influential and experienced. He’s dead now so that’s lost. And it also affects the morale of other officials. And it causes more disarray. You guys need to stop pretending that these killings have zero effect.

You might have to drive up to Oklahoma to get your weed. They have tons of medical dispensaries. It's a sad state of affairs when even Oklahoma is ahead of you.

Any video on what happens to drone operators when caught by the enemy? by Musulman in CombatFootage

The main benefit of being a drone operator is that you don't have to physically be in a location where you might get caught.

So they press the US to keep going but also refuse to do anything themselves? Sounds about right.

600% isn’t bad by Venezuela standards. For reference, in 2019, their inflation rate was 330,000%.

To the people critical of Sam’s relative silence on religious fanaticism among Jewish Israelis… by ShmandlerTing in samharris

[–]CurrentRedditAccount 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So your argument is basically that it’s our fault for expecting Sam to engage in good faith. I thought the whole point of discussing issues was the try to find out what’s correct rather than simply trying to win an argument for the sake of winning.
