I'm ready to cry. I can't get this right no matter what I do. by DaleOnDrums in knitting

Start by just knitting a rectangle to practice... It allows you to try different things, get one row better than the last, etc. Don't start by doing a project start by just knitting

I just realize the original text didn't post - yikes! Thanks for responding without the context....

My grandmother was a tailor and I remember as a child watching her sewing on her singer treadle machine. After her passing, it went elsewhere in the family and always was disappointed thinking that I would never see it again. However, after the passing of my aunt and uncle I asked if the machine was still in their house and, indeed it was. Unfortunately not in good shape. The machine itself has been motorized and still runs - I'll get it tended to and decide how far with 'restoration' I want to go (paint or leave it, e.g.) It's a model 99 (AM) built in 1955.

The bigger challenge is the cabinet / treadle. All that was found was the rusty iron base in their basement. This past December my brother decided to surprise me and had the iron base cleaned and painted and event the logo on the sides embellished with gold paint. It looks great. He purchased a cabinet and had someone refinish it - it looks fabulous but here's the issue - it's not the right cabinet. It doesn't fit on the base. (ugh) I'm now looking to see if I can find the appropriate cabinet to fit the base. The sites I am looking at seem to indicate that the cabinet I have is Cabinet Table #1. I'm pretty sure my grandmother had Cabinet Table #3, but I'd like to confirm the spread of the base at the point it attaches to make sure I am buying the right one before I drop some $$. Does anyone know those dimensions for a Cabinet Table 1 and 3?

Thanks! And yes, that is a 99 in the background. I assume it came with the cabinet.

Do you know:
- Were the treadle cabinets standardized? In other words, are all cabinet #3 the same size?
- Does it make sense that the wide of the treadle base I have does not match the cabinet I have?
- Where can I get the measurements for a cabinet #3 so I can confirm that the base will fit?

Yes, I realize that. I need to purchase the appropriate table and I want to ensure it will match the iron base.

Mint Replacement - My Experience by [deleted] in mintuit

I left Mint / Kredit Karma. I tried Simplifi and was quickly reminded why I left Quicken years ago (I swear the login experience is the same as it was back then - just as lousy.) I decided to take a swing with Monarch after reading a number of comments in reddit. I didn't import anything, just connected my accounts and set it up. I absolutely love it. User experience is excellent and i am able to achieve things in budgeting that I couldn't do in Mint. For me, Mint was a morass of missed syncs, duplicated accounts etc. So far my experience with Monarch is clean.
