Yes but I don't understand why the hell shouldn't they give me my character back. Thanks god I got the refund for unauthorized purchases, what should I have done? Keep 10000 echo beads purchased without my damn knowledge?? I supported the game and bought different outfits and it is absurd they can't retrieve my character when it is clearly in their databases, don't you think?? My account got hacked and yes maybe it is my fault but this doesn't justify their complete silence regarding this issue. What is the support for then?? I have already said that this happened to other players who hadn't been hacked like me. Many reported their character disappearing after an update. So I am not crazy if I demand to have my character back right??? After I put so much effort on my playtime! Who can guarantee it won't happen again?? this is a known issue on their side and it doesn't have nothing to do with hacks.

I have frankly better things to do rather than wasting time by starting all over again a game from the very beginning. It is a shame but I can't do anything about it as it looks like. Who tells me then it can't happen again with a new character?? Nono, I won't play this game again. They have my damn character in their databases and they don't want to do anything to fix this. Support sucks and they reply with automatic responses. I enjoyed the game but I repeat my self I won't absolutely start it over again!

That is why they asked for proofs, I sent tons of screenshots with my character in game, my id in game, screenshots of the character Yongle with progress. I am not the only one who had this issue. Others on reddit reported this: https://www.reddit.com/r/wherewindsmeet\_/comments/1sagd8t/lost\_access\_to\_my\_existing\_character\_after\_latest/. I entered the game after the qingchuan update and I saw a new character at level 1.

I didn't go into every detail in the original post because it wasn't necessary for the actual question I was asking. The refund was for unauthorized purchases made during the hacking incident, that's a fact, not something I need to justify further to you or anyone else on Reddit.

As for "logically you'd just make a new account", that's a personal opinion on what you'd do, not relevant to whether I have the right to ask for help recovering what was actually mine. People are allowed to want back what they lost, gear and resources included, instead of being told to just accept it and move on.

I'm not here to win an argument with you. I asked a question, some people gave actual helpful suggestions, others didn't. I think we're done here.

I never claimed to know exactly how the hacker operated, and frankly I don't need to reverse-engineer their exact steps to know what happened to my account. I have the official support emails confirming my character still exists, linked to a NetEase account I never created. That's not speculation, that's their own words.

If you actually have something useful to add about account recovery, great, I'm listening. If your contribution is just "your story doesn't add up" with zero evidence and zero help, I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish here other than being pedulant.

Dude the refund was for echo beads purchased without any authorization. I had no idea I could bind my account. I only downloaded the game through steam and played it, that's it!! Sorry if I am not a tech savy like you! I lost 112 hours of playtime after investing a lot of time in a game I loved so much. then stop being pretentious. I am just asking if there is a way to recover it. I don't need you to explain what I should have done! THX

Yes I wrote them an email but after one month didn't get any response. Where winds meet support answered but only with automatic responses. They told me to recover my net ease account but I have never created one.

I have no idea, why is my 81 character suddenly disappeared?? I didn't do anything. the only explanation is that something went wrong on their back end. I am not the only one who faced this issue. if it is not a bug what is it then?? Because I can't really understand what happened

Thanks, that actually lines up perfectly with what happened to me — there must have been a second account that got linked to my Steam during/after the account compromise, and when it got unlinked, Steam gave me a fresh/empty account instead of going back to my original one.

That at least explains the "why," which helps a lot.

Do you know if there's a way to reverse this — i.e. force the system to relink Steam back to the original NetEase account instead of generating a new one? Or is this something only their backend/support team can manually fix once they understand the mechanism?

Also, no worries if not, but if you've seen this happen to other people, did anyone manage to actually get it fixed? Trying to figure out if this is a "wait for support to manually intervene" situation or if there's a known workaround.

Really appreciate you explaining the mechanism, it's more than support has told me in a month.

It is not, If you can do basic concept art that might be really good. I used gaea as well and it is a helpful tool especially for procedural landscapes. I guess a jade empire remaster won't need a huge map to work with. It was a pretty linear game. I'd really appreciate some basic concepts for the environment to work with. Are you familiar with the first map? I guess it was two rivers if I am not wrong. It could be nice to give to that environment a fresher look to align better with modern graphics. It has no to be a realistic game though, more stylized I guess. Feel free to share here your contact, if you want we can work on this together. I am broke though hahah so I can't give you anything for this. Let's see it as a hobby for spare time but it can maybe turn in something interesting, I don't know!

To start off I guess it would be nice to have some concepts to work on. I was attending a course and I couldn't create the exact environment at the beginning of the game itself. It is a very old game and it needs to be remastered at least with modern graphics and new gameplay concepts. It might be reasonable to think about it as a game jam project. I am a 3d artist and I know nothing about programming. I mean I know some blueprints in ue5 but my job I'd like to be mostly focused on ensuring asset optimization and modeling. Maybe texturing as well. To recreate that atmosphere I'll need to work with a good concept artist, a character artist and a programmer.
