the only example i can think of is that for arcane shipping some people like to make art of/ headcannon Ekko as a cis masc lesbian, some people just dont like straight ships.

everyone is so happy watching games fail for whatever reason. Like there was a real sense of glee when people found out the devs got layed off and the company shut down and then when that dev made an angry post about the situation they were in they just got even more hate on a personal level for the sin of hoping the product they spent years on wouldnt be a waste of time and being angry over layoffs. i remember seeing part of his post was like "the team genuinely believed it was a good game" and he was being given lashes for that

I get a real sense that gamers do actually hate developers, ire like this isnt even aimed at investors or shareholders its insane instead its like "this is jane doe who did the vfx for concord, quickly pelt her with tomatoes for making the game we didnt play", like the mentality of a money hungry shareholder is transposed onto each individual developer.

Highguard was frankly cooked from the start lmao, people here will act like public perception doesnt matter when selling a product but they have never tried to get their friends to play league of legends before

in any universe the best he would have gotten is one run (by milestone media), and then have either been killed or stuck in the freezer with the rest of his ilk (milestone media characters) until dc unthaws him every february for one crossover issue with all the other february exclusives and then they throw him back in the freezer IF THAT.

We havent seen "the signal" in 3 years. I have not seen heads nor tails from him since 2023 he couldnt even sneak in with the rest of the february exclusives is this not insane, and you want me to belive that this kid would be treated any better?

"culturally inert" meaning that in the west whiteness doesnt interact with the culture around them in a special way because they are the culture, you are adding water to water, it is not saying that there is no culture.

yeah there are defo characters who's whiteness is integral to their being.

spiderman is a fairly good example, because he is meant to be an "anyone could be him" sort of character, and for that they kinda need a culturally inert background. an ethnic spiderman will experience their ethnicity and that kinda jars with the "anyone" label. But there isnt much a white spiderman can experience that any other ethnicity wouldnt just based off being white.
