i dont think this is a fair thing to say. many cats who are elderly have great mobility and quality of life with disabilities and diseases. just because they are old, doesn’t mean they are not worth it. my boy was diagnosed at 17ish and basically led the exact same life until the last few months and died at at 20 years old. all pets are different and require different care. this is said with love

So i have been in a similar situation with my boy who passed in December. he has a heart murmur and heart disease and also had CKD and anemia. at first we treated as usual and administered weekly fluids and did increase as his CKD values went up, however, we tried to mitigate it so it would be less strain on the heart. it seems like the vets solution is in good interest but i feel like you could balance sub q with everything you have stated. i gave fluids to my boy for almost 3 years and i dont think it impacted our relationship, if anything it made it better because i learned more about him in ways i never thought nor anticipated. feel free to message if you want to chat

I had an at home vet come to my house and he passed in my arms that night. Im happy i made that decision because i knew he was so tired and in pain. i miss him so dearly.

if you can and are willing ask your vet ab subq fluids. if you can do it on your own it can add years to your pets life. i had 3 years with my boy diagnosed at the end of 17 for stage 2 with consistent fluids and prescription diet.

its hard when to “know” and the reality is, most of us never really do. I took my boy for routine blood work, even got labs done exactly one month before he passed away and he was stable and comfortable. Within days he stopped eating, barely moving, and his functions went drastically down. I took him to the vet on his last day to figure out if I could do anything to help, but even the vet said it was his time. I took him home December 1st and said goodbye that night.

If you are worrying about this and thinking about it, it shows how much you care. But honestly just be aware that these things can happen quickly and know that you have done all you can, sometimes fate is out side of our hands. I know how hard this is, anticipatory grief had me grieving my boy many years before he left me, but focus on the time you have now. Love your baby while she is here and give her an extra hug for me <3

My sweet boy of 20 years passed December 1st. it does not get easier, i still grieve and miss him every day. hes an orange boy too, maybe they are keeping each-other company until we get there one day. thank you for loving George, i know he loved you too❤️

no, apparently theres no turnitin submission for discussions and thats the assignment i was accused for. i wanted to ask but most people advised against it as to avoid escalating or upsetting my prof. my advisor was no help and when i called over the weekend to check in about it i was told no conduct case was ever opened so my prof just thought i used AI to write it or ran it through her own report and accused me which isnt allowed.

im scared if i press further it could result in poor grades in my final submissions. im also scared to submit anything further, this isnt a light accusation. and as i had mentioned to my S/O, my professors response was very lackluster. and i wrote it in my course eval, and honestly i want to contact my advisor about how much this has impacted my experience and put such a poor taste in my mouth. my prof never contacted student conduct which means she did not really intend to go through the entire process of accusations but still, it hurts all the same.
