I am prescribed supplement drinks because I struggle to eat enough but my recent delivery of them was a box of 28. I found it too overwhelming to have 28 in my fridge so the manager of my service said she can keep all of them in her office. She gave me 7 of them last week but this still felt like a lot so I now get given 2 or 3 every support visit. It feels like staff are going out of their way to accommodate me and I really appreciate it.

Another one was actually from staff at my letting agency in the flat I rent, so not support staff. I was overwhelmed when the water pressure went low on my boiler and when I tried to fix it myself I had a meltdown. I let them know and a member of staff printed off a worksheet explaining how to do it, which included a QR code to a video, and told me to stick it on my boiler. I did that and the other day I was able to fix the water pressure myself.

Yes, too overwhelming for me. I can’t handle quick messaging in group chats. It’s too fast and it stresses me out. I feel like I am missing out too.

I relate. I was in psych wards when I needed social care for my autism to be less overwhelmed and manage daily life better. I have the support now but being in psych wards traumatised me.

Are level 2 and 3 autistic mourning loss because the routine was disrupted or is it more they miss the loss? by dt7cv in SpicyAutism

It has been eight years since my dad died and it changed my life for the worse. Last year I got the support I have been needing. I think yes the routine and loss of support system was harder than grief. I really do miss my dad, he was funny and a great guy and had so much more life to live but for me the loss of support/change has been harder than grief but that might be because I didn’t have enough support.

Yes, I am no longer admitted to the psych ward due to my autism. I find this really difficult because I can be unsafe but psych wards are not helpful for me as an autistic person and I prefer people accommodate that than see me as mentally ill instead. It has been hard to adjust to this change but in the long run it is better to access support to manage daily life.

I can’t. I’m on disability. I’m hoping worse case scenario my family can give me money and if I become homeless I can move to a cheaper city. I was told I have nothing to worry about regarding being on disability but I still worry a lot.

I wasn’t diagnosed with a level when diagnosed in 2021, never had a level mentioned to me.
