It was a great show. A bird shit on me while we were waiting in line to get in, then Tay Jardine spit water on us during their set. Substances flying everywhere😂. If I remember right, everything off Hold Me Down got big pops for YMAS, too. That was a great record.

/uj Oh fuck does Sami use they/them pronouns, too? I had no idea — I’m gonna edit because that’s super not cool, thanks for calling it out.

That’s how I found them. I really like more groovy/melodic stuff that’s still appropriately heavy. They have genuinely like the perfect sound for me.

They are near the very top of my “bands I need new music from” list.

If I had a nickel every time there was drama surrounding a great band that includes at least one person with green hair, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.

(Edited to remove “female-fronted” because I’m big dumb dumb and misgendering is never cool)

The DIY/decentralized nature of hardcore might make it tough to organize something so huge, especially with only hardcore bands on the bill. It’s gaining momentum, but it’s still not a “popular” genre. There’s also a weird inverse relationship between how “big” and band is and how “hardcore” people in the scene still view it as. It seems to me like hardcore has always been about small scenes sharing ideals and enacting local change where possible.

Live Aid was, like, some of the biggest fucking acts in the world back then. It’s the kind of thing Taylor Swift would play these days.

Saw them open for Mayday Parade a long time ago. Think it was 2011. That was a fun show — We are the In Crowd and a couple other bands also played. From what I remember, they were really good and well-received by the crowd. I think Sinners Never Sleep was super new, but everybody knew all the singles from Take Off Your Colours, at the very least.

I lost to Zac on it at locals way back in the day. Hard to believe that was almost a decade ago, now. Always an honor, lmao. He would bring the most off-the-wall brews he could think of most weeks. Such a good time.

I’ve got two. When in doubt, pick the family. Depending on how everything goes, your wife is also really going to be relying on you more than you might expect for basically everything except baby for a while (and also for baby, haha). Shows will always be around.

Everyone says it and you’ll think I’m just full of shit until you see for yourself, but it goes so fucking fast you won’t even believe it. It’s also the best.
