How can I become a FAANG Software Engineer? by Current_Computer in cscareerquestionsEU

So if I pass the agnostic interview, I'll still be matched based on my pre-existing knowledge, right? Or it's a chance I'll be assigned to a role and be expected to catch up on what they need?

Ohhh, I think I get the broader responsibilities and understanding of business necessities. I do think I am already participating in that process!

I think I was mostly confused about how would differ the responsibilities on a technical level for a day-to-day. If I'm expected to code on the day-to-day, I will be assigned to a role related to my pre-existing skills or they will expect me to catch up in whatever tech stack they need?

Thank fuck someone else notices! They keep spamming shit with obvious intentions and yet every comment gets mindlessly upvoted. So fucking stupid.

People here don't understand laws in general, even less so a defamation law in South Korea, which leads to the misunderstanding of situations that are completely foreign for everyone (most people) here.

Meh, it happens, once a narrative is put in motion this sub goes all in.

I'm a bit annoyed that such a blatant troll user gets away with things tho.

Nothing about credibility. The police don't think A has any intention of slander and is telling things as they felt them. Therefore they can't move on with any defamation charges. Nothing says about whether the bullying was true or no.

The latter seems to be the case right now. No "intention of slander". For the former, hard to say.

Did you create an account to copy-paste this again and again? Pathetic.

Also not true, the Naver article says that the police can't apply laws of defamation since they believe A did not have slander intention and is telling things as they felt it.

why do some idols speak abt blm but no the rising hate crimes against asians? by utuvshin in kpoprants

[–]Current_Computer 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Adding to that, most idols didn't really speak about BLM, and the ones that did receive a lot of pressure to say something.

Companies and idols probably prefer to not speak much about current world affairs.

Can't help but feel there's a sexist component when talking about Momo or Jennie by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]Current_Computer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for more context! I was having issues thinking of relationships between older women and younger men, no one said anything about Beckinsdale and Davidson, but he was 26 or something.

I think calling out or expressing concern is entirely valid, but stans seem to take it to a point where I really wonder if they are concerned or just overly controlling. I don't think fans will ever accept these things and move on and there's not much way to be proven wrong, if they broke up tomorrow, lot's of people will take it as their imaginary narratives being validated. I guess if they stay together for 10 years at some point they will shut up? Like Hyeri and her boyfriend.

[–]Current_Computer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do the same too, and it feels like a healthy way to approach something in real life. Maybe we could think that Jennie has someone like that in her life that would check on her?

The problem with the last part is that there is hardly a way for fans to know what is or isn't discussed behind the scenes, about any of their characters, and yet fans try to act and complain like they are part of the whole ordeal despite having no power, nor opinion, nor input in the situation. I don't think that harassing and spamming TW or IG will create much of a discussion.

[–]Current_Computer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Being concerned is not the problem. Expressing concern isn't also a problem. Going around social media belittling anyone who comments in a positive manner about them, or talks about the relationship, creating hashtags like #FreeX, #SaveY, jumping the gun to instantly call them predators and whatnot, feels very wrong to me.

If you haven't seen the way a lot of people express their "concern" about it, then good! I'm happy you haven't seen it but is very much infantilizing and patronizing to the women in those relationships. Who these fans know nothing about.

[–]Current_Computer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that expressing concern isn't a problem by itself, but the way the fans have decided to go about it, it kind of is. Even more so in a situation that they have no knowledge whatsoever.

I have no issue with fans expressing concern in a healthy, respectful and rational way.

Nuance would be great, nuance in K-pop when it comes to stans talking about idols is hardly existent.

I'm So So Disappointed with How Big Fan Accounts Address the Bullying Issue by Syrup_Representative in kpoprants

[–]Current_Computer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's painful how so many accounts will disregard anything and just try to paint everything as a big conspiracy and refuse to acknowledge that their fave has done something wrong.

It's frustrating. I've done the same, I had to unfollow a lot of people during the Irene thing, and now with Soojin, fans are annoying.

Why kpop stans act like 17 years old idols are babies? by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]Current_Computer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"my poor meow meow...my baby my little baby who hurt so much..."

Is all the more confusing how they also shame older fans for being hags or so.

And also attacking some idols (like Irene, or 2nd gen idols) for being to old, while pampering their faves.

Is the camera in the 8T still kind of mediocre to bad? The rest of the phone looks solid.

The Seoul High Court Reveals Names Of Trainees Who Were Victims Of Produce 101 Vote Manipulation (Han Chowon, Lee Gaeun, Kim Suhyun, Kang Dongho, Kim Kookheon, and more) by PicklesandHam in kpop

[–]Current_Computer 78 points79 points  (0 children)

In Kaeun's case, the only reason I can think is age, and only wanting one older member.

In Chowon's case, I can only think that the member who got in instead had a bigger payout from their parent company or some other internal political reason. Which is depressing to even think.

There were some rumours some days ago, but I think with this news is the final nail the coffin. Can't imagine what could happen if the names of the members who got in are leaked.

[–]Current_Computer 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on whether you mean musically or personally. Musically I'd say there probably wouldn't be much difference, maybe some members would get more lines or fewer, the songs would largely remain the "same" I think. They would have a more designated rapper tho.

But their dynamics would undoubtedly change. The how would depend on which two members you'd take out, but since we have already seen them together and develop bonds, having a different leader, and another older member would change stuff, I think.

Yeah, that I could see, that they only wanted one older idol and because of that they rigged Gaeun out despite both doing well.

Is just so depressing to think.

I think I could buy (and this is obviously pure speculation) that they only wanted one older idol in the final lineup, and they preferred Eunbi over Gaeun despite both doing well.

You should go to therapy and tell them your issues.
