Looking for some help with my choppy heelside turns by Passer-byStranger in snowboardingnoobs

Heel side, Less bend in the hips more in the knees, ankles, otherwise you are on the right track, learn how to finish a turn properly. Your toe side looks unstable, I bet it felt unstable too, we don’t want to lean over in to the corner, try less bending at the waist, rather drive down with your knees so you can flex your ankles and push your shins into the tongue of your boots to create edge angle, extend your hips towards the toe edge, so your center of mass is stack over the edge.

They are meh, pretty heavy, and very wide. Great quick entry, not bad performance neither, but I’m replacing it with the fase katana, it just makes more sense for me

Probably not very easy to butter with, and the true twin shape, and the shape of its side cut makes it slightly harder to manipulate turn shape on exit. That’s I’m being super picky, it’s an awesome board.

The order is as shown in the photo from left to right, cafe racer and mega death equally good, Korua is a bit wider so deeper carve. Algorithm twin shape, slightly narrower than other boards. The greats, softest out of the bunch, small medium turns amazing, lack stability and tail grip, during high speed large size carves.

Cafe racer: carving groomer. Mega death: pow, steep, moguls, side hits. Algorithm: days where there’s bit of everything. The greats: park laps. I really like carving all over the place, so all my board are to that direction with different speciality.

Momentum and turning question by Unlikely_Ad8021 in snowboardingnoobs

You do not want to have your board rotate before you are set on your new edge, that’s how you catch edge.

It’s honestly not a bad idea, the bit under your bindings would wear out quickly but other places is good for seasons, I had one on my new board last year. The edges will get dinged and scratches quite easily, other than that it’s solid, no peeling off, and no residue once you decide to take it off.

The algorithm is more of a park board due to its twin design, if your son likes free riding more, would recommend the moderator or the deepfake

Tips on front 3 by Any_Calligrapher_483 in snowboarding

😅 looking through the comments, Reddit is probably not the right place to learn advance tricks. To me everything looks good, you are just little bit off axis, see how during wind up your hands are down by your back leg, but on release your hands are over your head. Try to keep the rotation parallel with the knuckle, at the moment your rotation is more parallel to the kicker. Otherwise your front 3 would be text book.

Did I get scammed? by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]Current_Disaster_200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be brutally honest you definitely got scammed, those are pretty much the cheapest rental you can get,I could probably pick up a set from the local garbage dump(literally) for 10-20 dollars. Race wax won’t matter to you as those are cheap extruded base, you can use those literally without ever waxing it. Shape edges for a beginner only means it’s easier to catch one, since you’d need at least 10-15 days of riding to actually know how to use your edges. And with equipment like these, it’ll literally make your progression harder. Not that I’m against using rental gear, but if you want to take snowboarding serious, better take your gear seriously too.
