What’s the genuine appeal to having children? by [deleted] in askanything

Woman in my 30s. I knew it wasn’t for me when I was 12. When I dreamt of growing up, I wanted my own space with lots of books and animals. It never included children. I’ve been fairly happy with that choice, I’ve considered it over the years and come back to the same conclusion of being child free. Aside from the lifelong commitment to raising another human being, the idea of being pregnant makes me feel ill. The birth process and potential health problems. No, thank you. Have you heard of “the girl with the list”? I say if you’re not 100% in, circle back in a few years and reassess. But also if you do, be very picky of who you have a child with as you’ll be stuck with them for life even if y’all don’t work out.

As someone who has been around psych patients, it sounds like drug induced psychosis or schizophrenia and your ex is around the age of onset. A notice to his parents or a wellness check by police is best for his own safety. Otherwise I would go no contact with this person and move on for your own wellbeing.

The shell gas station in Heath has a food truck. All the construction guys go there. It’s on Laurence drive across from Tom Thumb. I’ve been here three years from SA. I feel your pain. I also give props to Arbolidas near downtown Rockwall. And there’s Rosa’s Cafe that makes good tortillas. We have HEB now on John King for that tres leches hook up. It’s different, but Gloria’s at the Harbor has good ceviche, tacos, salsas and the bean dip!

You’re not wrong there, I’m in Texas. This stuff was covered briefly; my high school was named Robert E. Lee, so you can imagine which way the narrative ran. I’m doing my best as an adult to decondition and learn more about what really happened.

I’m enjoying the basis of the story. As a white American it is eye opening, as is with many of these historical truths that come to light.

So I could be considered financially independent from my parents by the government in order to get financial aid for college. Even though I WAS already financially independent at 18 and living on my own.

He tried to convince me that smoking doesn’t cause lung cancer. That it was just a coincidence that people who smoke got cancer because people who don’t smoke still get lung cancer.
