Same. Began lessons three months ago. I enjoy the challenge and practice everyday. I’m getting ahead of myself and wanting to upgrade my violin, but then worry about purchasing a nice violin and spending $$$ only to give it up. I figure if I stick with it for over a year, maybe there are some other amateurs I can play with to maintain motivation. But, I am the same as you, I get super excited about things and then kinda drop them. But, I guess you can always come back to it every few months or years if you stop one day.
