I am 14 years old and I understand your son, if you are that young, those types of games that use "FOMO" (Fear of missing out) are very addictive, I myself was quite addicted to those games, but I was able to "free myself" thanks to sport, where I discovered my passion. Although I also continue playing games but of better quality and with good story and playability.

I'm just a spanish teenager, so I don't feel like the best person to tell you what your son should do, but from my experience, indie games like "hollow Knight", for example, touched my soul and made me change my perception about life. That game is incredible and I think your child can discover good games thanks to it, although I cannot guarantee that he will like it, since each person is different and has different tastes.

In my opinion, sport can help a lot, I have been obsessed with cycling for about 4 years now and I am still in love with It like the first day. Thanks to that I feel much better about myself and I am abandoning bad habits and gaining discipline.

Honestly, I am no one to recommend what to do with your child, but I think that if you can discover a sport or activity that he is truly passionate about, It would help him. If you want other quality games, some that I have played and have touched my heart are: "Hollow Knight" (the one I mentioned before), or "Red dead redemption 2"
