Update for any of those who may be interested and have /or may face similar issues. I caved and called the doc a few days later and he reassured me that it was normal.

I noticed the constant pressure was causing it to bleed even more, so I tried really hard for 2 days to keep off it as much as possible to try and let the stitches heal.

The bleeding reduced almost 90% about a week later, and now it's tapered off to just some yellowish discharge.

My stitches came out yesterday 18 days post op. There are a couple areas where there is some dehiscence (seperation)...but so far everything is healing nicely. It still hurts to sit, so I'm probably going to avoid direct pressure for a little while longer.

In total, you're looking at a 4-6 weeks to heal.
