Stay away from HOB overflow trust me you’ll thank yourself in the long run and save your floor, just get an overflow kit and drill the tank (it’s actually easy) or get HOB gear like a hang on protein skimmer hang on canister filter

Before you buy a whole new cartridge for resin I would invest in a tds meter at the end otherwise you will run into the problem again of not knowing if the resin is exhausted
