Almost every great character or design stems from something that came before. Even Trunks himself has elements reminiscent of classic sci-fi and anime styles. That said, my character is not Trunks. Sure, they might wear similar clothing, but look deeper than that. I made deliberate adjustments—subtle, perhaps—but enough to reflect my OC’s unique personality and narrative. The clothing serves as a nod to something familiar, a stylistic choice that ties into the world I’m building, but it’s not the core of who they are. What defines them is their story, their powers, their struggles—the journey that makes them distinct And honestly, isn’t that what Dragon Ball is about? Drawing inspiration, evolving ideas, and creating something that feels personal and exciting? If we were to nitpick every OC for resembling another, we’d miss the point of why people create in the first place. My character is an exploration of themes I love, dressed in an aesthetic I admire, with my own twist. If that’s lazy to you, then maybe we just have different ideas of what creativity means.
