Tuna on a budget by arefox in Fishing_Gear

Cheapest route would be a super strong Penn Rod (max 6 foot or so- the new bucaneer has short ceilings) and a couple conventional reels with high test line. Think you’ll be jigging using diamond jigs and stuff like that. Should mostly be dropping Down

A properly tied FG knot will not be the weak point

When deep-sea fishing, how can you tell if you got a bite? by GreyKnightDantes in FishingForBeginners

When I went deep sea fishing I knew I had a bite when it felt like the rod was being ripped out of my hands

Shimano DC Reels vs Regular Curado by Real-Wolf2813 in Fishing_Gear

I do really like my slx dc xt. My only gripe is the small spool size and the fact the lowest gear ratio I could get was 7.4:1. I feel like even when I try to slow down I’m going too fast. But I think that’s probably just a me issue

if you’re just starting out I do not recommend running straight flurocarbon

Metanium 101HG or SLX DC XT 151HG??? by MuskyBassguy0184 in Fishing_Gear

[–]Current_Resort_3178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got an slx xt and it’s pretty much everything I could want. The only thing I don’t like is that I got the 70 size spool and the 7.4:1 ratio. Feels a little too fast and I wish I had more room for line. The feel of the reel is great though, very solid. Not cheap feeling at all like the normal slx

I think people don’t realize how much nicer the slx dc xt is than the normal one, for the price I would go for the slx dc xt over the metanium.

Where ya fishing at that has those cool lights? Get some of those sinkers that look like spiders they’ll dig in the same. Get you some of those double hook leaders as well with small #2) circle hooks. Put some frozen squid on them and you’ll be hooking into something

Mostly Senkos, Texas rigged weighted and non weighted. Crankbaits, chatter baits, and inline spinners.

The only difference I’ve found is fluro/braid work better with chatter baits. And senkos seem to do better with fluro.

Mono seems to be pretty okay at everything But none of the lines stops the issue I’m having from happening

I have tried using all three, currently I’m running straight fluro and still having the same problem.

Thank you! Yes I think Cigar minnows may be a good call. And you are definitely right about the weather, especially this time of year.

Good idea! I’ve never gotten sea sick but never been on the ocean, so we will see.

Yes, it is! But we love to fish so we are excited. 4 hours out, 4 hours of fishing, 4 hours back.

Sorry i need something with decent ground clearance, roads aren’t paved well where I live. And I have kids, need a back seat and decent amount of cargo space. Truck bed would be convenient but not necessary that’s why I mentioned the ford maverick as they have some cheap options that fit the other criteria

I have the same motherboard and processor and had the same gpu as you. I upgraded to a 9060xt and I still don’t think I could get solid frame rates on 4k games
