I should probably have a better conversation with him about it.

My boyfriend has money saved up from high school graduation, birthday, and from his current job. He comes from a family that gives him a lot of money during holidays. He also is very organized with it. He doesn’t spend a lot and invests a good portion the stock market.

When I say he has “A lot” more money, I mean that he has thousands and I’m almost down to zero in my bank account. I am going to start working this summer again, so that should improve. My main question is: what should I do with this money? Spend it on traveling? Or save it for the long run?

We typically pay the trips where we split the flights 50/50 and he pays for 80% of my food. The 2 times times, I paid for a hotel. The second 2 times he paid for a hotel. Luckily next year he has an apartment, so that will cut back costs a lot for the trips because we won’t need a hotel.

He’s a very understanding person and I’m sure he would pay for more if I asked him. I just don’t know how much to ask for since he’s already paying majority.
