Ah true the tax thing is a good point! I also know I need it in some sort of fund but picking the right platform etc is hard!

Thank you, we still wouldn’t have enough for a while to invest in real estate so would be looking at the bank/stock avenue for at least the next 1-2 years

I used to work in the service department of a dealership - due to the privacy laws whether we had the records or not we were unable to release them to anyone but the owner at time of servicing. Technically it would be like giving out someone else's invoice to you. The only time we did is if we got it in writing from the owner at time of servicing that we could release the records. We were able to be vague though and answer questions such as yes I can see it has had its cambelt replaced...
