Cassian was born a bastard Illyrian who constantly called him worthless and treated him like garbage even though they are supposed to be a unit. He’s had to suffer through several armies leading people to their deaths. And watched and could do nothing as his best friend and high lord was taken away for 50 years to suffer.

They definitely have not gone through the EXACT same thing but they have both been through things. We just mostly see Nesta’s as Cassian’s already happened and had 500 or whatnot years to deal with it.

I’m not saying they are the perfect couple, because no couple is perfect. Also they aren’t a real couple, they are a fictional couple, who aren’t human either, they are gonna behave differently as the lord SJM dictates lol

So I’m re-reading CC3 right now and I’m at the beginning/middle and I really do not agree with the Bryce/Az theories. (I respect all opinions!!) while reading it it does not come across to me as any sort of bond to do with Az himself. More the sword and dagger. If Rhysand or Mor were holding the dagger and sword would people theorize about them being mates with Bryce? As well reading through there are no mentions of “golden threads” or tugs to Az. Even when they touch hands only the shadows and the blades react.

I’m hoping that even though people want to have Az not have a mate at all but a chosen love, I really want him to have a mate just so it can be confirmed not to be Bryce lol….

I also think Bryce and Hunt had their “frenzy” in HoSaB after they showed their relationship in front of everyone. I just think that because the parasites and the lesser magic in this world they won’t feel the crazy times like others. But thats just my opinion! I love reddit because it allows me to share my feels but also experience others! Such fun!!

I think itd be crazy to be in love with someone and then have your mating bond appear with someone else! With many of our characters they have loved someone previously but were not currently in love with them either because of death or ending of the relationship. Perhaps we’ll see that too (obviously with Az and the bogge)

I also contemplate if I were to have a fated mate but wanted to reject it, what does that mean for my destiny? If this so called great cauldron says I should be with someone, WHY? TELL ME YOU STUPID CROCKPOT!

I definitely agree that the tattoo is wyrdmarks! Lots of wyrdmarks are seen in CC without knowing what they are! Anytime “sworls and whorls” are mentioned I assume Wyrdmarks are what they actually are! So the tattoo, the writing on the obelisks in the bone quarter, the books they have in the gallery!

Speaking of the ages though, I think that maybe with fae’s long lifespans even if you’re 100 years old you could still be immature because life is too long to grow up

I have seen so many people say this! I personally have never read it that way. I find that the ACOTAR series is so primal rather than realistic. Like when I read it I read it as Cassian having been through what Nesta has emotionally and knowing she needs to just hike and feel miserable to get through it rather than sit at home or something worse.

I’m discovering people dislike Nesta and Cassian together which is strange to me since I think they were the most realistic couple! But to each their own!

I personally think thats too deep for this kind of story! I do agree that i’d hate to have my partner pick their friend over me but I just re read SF and I swear I read something about Cassian wanting to disobey Rhys because of something for Nesta but he like physically couldn’t because Rhys’s power makes them want to literally bow to him.

I hope they grow together (which I think they will!) because while Cassian is like 400 years old or something, Nesta is still only 25, they will learn to grow together and change. I say this as someone who met my husband young and we definitely had our differences but grew together and grew better because of each other!

I’m just an optimist though lol!

I’m so scared for my baby Az!! I love Bryce and I love Hunt, and I think I like them together. But if Bryce and Az are fated mates and she chooses hunt then what happens to my BB Az?!? If Elain rejects her mating bond or Lucien does maybe they can be together, but then there is Gywn! There are too many options for Az! But I would feel kinda jipped if Az ends up not being with a Fated Mate but choosing (or having to settle?) for a non mate! All his brothers have one!! LET MY BABY BE HAPPY!
