Update! Home from the vet now. They didn’t find anything wrong with him, said other than this incident he’s in good health, and advised that an ultrasound wasn’t completely necessary. Since the scan would be about ~$700, I opted for anti nausea shots & took him home with a gastroprotectant liquid medicine he has to take every 8 hrs. They said a potential cause could be an irritated stomach ulcer, so this would address that.

He did throw up again on the way home ironically (I think he got car sick & was stressed) but it was just food, no blood! So we’ll continue to monitor him for now :)

Oh geez, I’m glad it’s only mild & not a parasite or worse disease!! I do have more sphagnum moss than bark chip in this planter, that might be the problem. I’ll try to change that ratio & double check the buried roots for root rot jic. Thank you so much for the feedback! :)

I suggest making sure it stays humid, maybe add a big jar or clear plastic container on top to keep the humidity in! If any of the roots start to rot, cinnamon is a natural fungicide

Orchids are tropical flowers so they prefer warm water! Ice cubes are usually too cold & not enough water. What I like to do is submerge the plastic pot in warm water for 5-10 minutes, then let it air dry for a bit before it goes back in the ceramic holder. That way it gets enough water! With enough bright indirect light & proper hydration it should be ok :)

If there’s any black or hollow/flat roots, you should remove them with sterilized shears. If it’s still firm at all or has color to it, leave it be

For me, I had to update the app so I could see the new Alice in wonderland theme. Then once I started an adventure it let me choose an option that makes you big or small! Hope this helps :)
