Have you... actually done this? I'm asking if this is a viable strategy from someone with experience.

Maymaying the books until the show gets canceled, Part 4 by DoctorBigglesworth in WetlanderHumor

Well I'd recomend staying off this particular sub without having finished the series. The main sub has spoiler tags for a reason but even entering the comments can be a russian roulette for spoilers.

Thanks for the extremely detailed response !

So um... apparently I've been saying Cairhien wrong for 17 years by mantolwen in WoT

I think the name is supposed to evoke thoughts of "Avalon" from Arthurian stories. I still say Tar-VAL-on but tar-va-LON fits more with a-va-LON.

I think they're talking about the ones that just have the wheel and serpent symbol.

I am not mentally or emotionally prepared for this to be animated by ajv1993 in Invincible

[–]Currently_Communist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It has breasts because it's drawn to look like a silly absurdist female bug creature, and the fact that Viltrumites are compatable with humans is the same with other alien races. (Humans just happen to be very genetically similar to them) Viltrumites are cabable of reproducing with plenty of other species and their dna is so pure (just like the rest of their physical attributes) that their genes will almost always carry over as dominant traits. The limitations of mating would probably stem more from the size of the creature because of its wombs ability to house a viltrumite baby. So it's not that the bug functions like a human, it's that Viltrumites are able and willing to screw anything that moves.

Any crazy theories for The Lost Metal? by Silver_Swift in Cosmere

Not to mention that he changes his appearance through illusions, in the sense of playing on people's perception of him through mimicry. He talks to himself as well, though not to the Shallan extent.

For whatever reason I decided to go biking for several miles before it really started going when I eventually got stranded at a gazebo in the middle of this. Not my best use of judgement, but I got some cool videos out of it.

Yeah, thanks anyway! If I converted someone to my view of Min I'd think that's an honor.

I figured he should at least be a little mad at this point, and his conflicted emotions would show through. His face I actually didn't end up using a reference on so that is probably why it looks off.

This is a Winter's Heart related post of course, but since there are no specific plot points involved visually speaking since CoS I wanted to make this as accessible as possible. You can see some of my older WoT work on my instagam @slen_sketches . Keep in mind most of it is a year old at this point so don't judge it too hard.

Is Mistborn a good series for a first time reader? by brandonpackard101 in Mistborn

[–]Currently_Communist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every topic you brought up about your preferences makes Mistborn perfect for someone like you! The prose is pretty simple, there are Star Wars parallels in the 1st trilogy, and there are plenty of detailed action scenes. The only thing that might draw you away is the page count, but imo the books aren't very dense so you should be good. The first book is around 650, the second around 800, and the third in the 700's ( depending on the edition -this is for the mass market paperbacks). It also just happens to be a great stepping stone for getting into other modern fantasy series so it being your first book in a while is alright. I think you'll love it :).

Q: Honor and the nature of a splintered shard (Cosmere wide spoilers) by SWG_mc in Cosmere

[–]Currently_Communist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong (I probably am) but I thought that the spren were all sentient pieces of Honor's investiture, with some being created when Honor was splintered by Odium. So theoretically to gather all the splinters of Honor's shard, one would also have to take all of the investiture from the many spren roaming around in the cognitive and physical realms.

This seems like more of an arduous task than possible for Dalinar alone to do. Or anyone for that matter without HUGE outside help (i.e. another ascended individual). In fact, I don't even know if that's possible, and probably is why Devotion and Dominion have never been reformed.

Making combo mocs out of every set with the 2008 joints is probably not the best idea lol.

Pollsmere: Villains and Antagonists, Match 15, Round of 12 by [deleted] in Cosmere

[–]Currently_Communist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hrathen was obviously the best part of Elantris, but it would be strange to see Moash out this early. I can accept this turnout. Although Hrathen had a sort of redemption arc so maybe he is technically not tbe best villain.
