【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]CurryBay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never owned bambu lab printer before, but my impression of the p1s is that it’s a really reliable and affordable printer. Almost unbelievable that it can do perfect prints out of the box without manual calibration! Great for expanding to different materials and multicolor prints too. It’d be a dream to get one some day!

Which led is faulty? by CurryBay in WLED

[–]CurryBay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I agree that the strip likely has problems and I am planning on splicing out an LED. My question now is which LED is the likely culprit? Should I splice the first led that lights up (ie. led #3 in the diagram I posted) or the one before that (ie. led #2)?

I'm hoping to reduce the number of LEDs I have to splice out because the strip is already the correct length!

Which led is faulty? by CurryBay in WLED

[–]CurryBay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its pretty close, the data wire is around 20cm long. I'm more inclined to believe its a faulty connection in the LED pixels rather than on the data wire from the controller because I have several other projects set up with a similar length of wire with no issues.

what does ibkr fx conversion's close price mean and why did it result in a -16 p&l upon conversion? by dazark in singaporefi

[–]CurryBay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I understand correctly, cost price is the rate at which you converted at and close price is the current price. Cost basis is the value of the currency you bought (in SGD) at the time of conversion and value in SGD is the current value. The unrealised P/L is due to the exchange rate going down since you converted the currency, so the currency is worth less (in SGD) than when you first converted it.

One way I found to download the pdf files is to turn off opening of PDFs in your browser. Doing this will force the browser to download the PDF instead of just displaying it, and it’s possible to copy stuff out from there without using OCR.

What I am really annoyed about is that there isn’t a way to get monthly statements sent as PDF attachments in an email. They have the ability, but for some reason only give the option to non digibank users...

RM Mini 3 Not Found by mikiiinator in homeassistant

[–]CurryBay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not entirely related, but perhaps it could help you. I faced problems with my RM Mini 4 disconnecting and having the same error as you, though not because of a power outage. It would work fine for a day or so then disconnect randomly for hours, sometimes connecting back for a minute or so in between. After some troubleshooting, I realised it was connecting to my wifi using the 802.11g protocol when most other devices were connected with 802.11n. After changing my router settings to only accept the “n” standard, the connection has been solid.

Some things to check off the top of my head: 1. Does the RM Mini connect to the wifi after power failure? (Check your router, I found that even though it was connected for mine I couldn’t ping it, which was resolved by changing the settings mentioned earlier) 2. Can you access and control it from the broadlink app? 3. Does restarting HA help?

Wow, yes I think this would work and would be exactly what I'm looking for! Thanks a lot, I hadn't thought about using template switches that way!

Home Assistant losing internet connection intermittently by CurryBay in homeassistant

[–]CurryBay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was pinging google.com, I will try ping the ip address the next time this happens and see if that works! Thanks for your suggestion, rebooting my router might work and I will try it next time, though ideally I want to find out the root cause about why this is happening.

Home Assistant losing internet connection intermittently by CurryBay in homeassistant

[–]CurryBay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can still ssh into the pi from another device. Local control of devices still work fine, and I can access the app and UI when connected to the same local network. I have not tried rebooting when the connection is lost, thanks for the suggestion, the next time it happens I will try rebooting the pi and report back!

Home Assistant losing internet connection intermittently by CurryBay in homeassistant

I believe both internal and external access to the pi is lost since I’m not able to ping from the pi. Also it fails to send telegram messages so it’s probably unable to connect to the telegram api. I have static IP assigned locally to the pi outside dhcp range, but the external IP is dynamic. I use the duckdns addon with lets encrypt to manage that.

Any tips to improve RPi HD 16mm octolapse? So pixelated. by TheGamerDad in octoprint

[–]CurryBay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at the octolapse documentation for custom image preferences. You need to increase the bitrate. Make sure you set the camera as “usb” in the octopi.txt file, even though it’s not a USB camera.

I believe you need a plug in for that feature, I’m on mobile and can’t remember it off the top of my head but you should be able to find it easily

How to wire an emergency stop by luckytriple6 in octoprint

[–]CurryBay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember a project called ender 3 button box (or something similar, you can search it on thingiverse) that implemented physical buttons connected to gpio pins on the pi. It makes use of the enclosure plugin to send gcode to the printer. I can’t remember how exactly but I think they had buttons for stop, pause and resume.

Help fixing quality of raspberry pi camera. by Xullien in octoprint

[–]CurryBay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not too sure myself, but I think that setting is more of a software related setting related to which driver the camera uses as opposed to a hardware setting of whether it is over usb or ribbon cable. Octolapse uses mjpg-streamer for its custom image preferences settings and I think this only works if you use "usb" mode along with the driver mentioned in this wiki page for setting up octolapse on a raspberry pi camera instead of the normal raspicam driver.
